James McLean
Would love to see Sunderland and it's fans have some balls and make sure this champagne never plays for them again. Then hopefully no other British club picks him up.

Refused to wear a shirt with a poppy on it - total disgrace!Ian_Wright wrote:What has he done?
Re: James McLean
Anybody refusing to wear a shirt with a poppy on it should be banned from the league as a suspension. Not just their own club.
This is a global day, not just for those who have very little thought of others!!!!!!!!!

I read that the British army murdered 11 people in his home town including a kid in front of his house.
Don't blame him.

Re: James McLean
And whats that got to do with showing respect for the soldiers that have passed you f_shiraz knob.

If innocent people were murdered by the British Army in his home town. F_shiraz knob.
I wouldn't be too pleased about remembering that institution either. F_shiraz knob.
All in all it's his prerogative.
Re: James McLean
Also if you are reffering to Bloody Sunday all the way back in the 70's, im not sure how a child was murdered outside his house considering he wasnt born until late 80's.

Right. What does it matter if it was 15 years or so apart. If you know a terrible thing happened in front of your house that stirred deep emotions in your community, probably a memorial site, which you walk past on your way out then on your way in the house every single day it's gonna leave an impression.
Like I said, it;s his prerogative and in context you can understand why.

If the day was only about the British Army then he might have a point. The fact that German soldiers have marched on Remembrance Sunday shows that isn't the case.
It's his perogative not to wear it and it my perogative to call him a champagne and hope he never plays in England again. If he wants to live in Great Britain then he needs to learn to respect matters like this. If not, he should shiraz off to another country where that is acceptable. Unfortunately, some irish died in both world wars as well, maybe he should remember that as well.
You call it "murder" I call it taking out terrorists. I don't think there's ever been any proof that innocents have been murdered by the British Army (the ira cannot say the same). Innocents may have been caught in crossfire but no proof that they were ever targeted. Unlike the ira.
I hope the champagne next cabernet is a hedgehog and he dies of the bleeding.

Even the 2nd enquiry (which was a smokescreen to help the peace movement) stated that they fired initially on armed terrorist members. mcguinness himself was there and armed.
Also, the day isn't just about the British Army.

Re: James McLean
This was sent to me by a mate who's a sunderland season ticket holder
At the end of the day, its a free country & he's free to say, do and wear what he likes.
He's also free to p*ss off back to potato land if he doesn't like and respect the traditions and sense of decency of the country he's earning his money in.
