1. Barca still won
2. Probably treated it as a training run
3. Refer to 1.
they had to work for it, and yes they won but celtic gave a very credible performance and impressed many pundits
Yep, and on another day Barca could have scored 10. But they didn't.

But you still got zero points.

This is the pinnacle of club football and Celtic are just not good enough to mount a credible charge att he final stages. Good teams find a way to win - that is is what Barcelona did even when not playing at their best, average teams find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory even when they are playing the game of their lives.
Great post old man

Great effort from the bhoys, nearly got something out of the game.
Hopefully we can build on it for the other group games left.

You've got more chance this year than normal because you've got zero competition for the SPL, so don't have to worry about playing in two comps at once.

Celtic's youth team would probably win the SPL.

Lol, oh happy days

The poor armies of darkness supporters have sunk so low that they are trying to cover us in shame for a narrow away loss to Barcelona

Good old Bomber who has more clubs than Tiger Woods (yes I know that's been done before but if the shoe fits) all who seem to have collectively not won a sausage over the last few years, jumps in, straight after his old made Redneck - who makes up a story about us whinging (yes GIAE it's correct that way to)

In comes Jay who "saw the stats" but not the game like some AFL loving freak - in Football Jay we don't obsess about the stats - having said that the only stat that matters is the score and yes we lost but no whinging or excuses

Oh happy, happy days when that's all your poor down trodden "Orcs" can come up with

I await GIAE's next link showing a 12 year old Celtic Fan singing about bombing the shiraz out the Queen

Glasgow Celtic - First British Team to win the European Cup

Hail Hail

Yes well done we know but it was a long time ago and it will never happen again.

By the way hate to break it to you but you don't win anything - not even points - for losing "narrowly" and quite frankly the constant crying about the brave performance (in losing) is boring but I suppose that now you have no competition at home losing narrowly in Europe is all you can aspire to.

Talking of AFL, you don't get a point for getting close. A loss is still a loss and gets you ZERO POINTS!

But it's OK because it was a narrow loss and you were brave doing it!

you need the E to harden the G otherwise you are saying WHING - ING.

I don't need to post the link, you've seen them all before but like an ostrich you keep your head in the sand and pretend there's no pro ira songs by celtic. You'll be saying next that full respect is always shown to rememberance day.

Come on, wake up and smell the truth. We both know it happens, why pretend it doesn't?

When we qualify, at least we usually make it past the first group stage! How often do your lot manage it after qualifying so easily for it each year?
Add to that, we are usually quite pissed off after a loss.........to anyone!

PS - 5-1 :P

Royal Engineers won the FA Cup before man u, man city, liverpool, arsenal etc.. However, I think all of those teams are better then the engineers.

Who won the race to win it twice? 3 times? 4 times? even 5 times?

You stole their anthem, you won't steal their records!

You know what I find funniest? That you and other Liverpool fans moan that the Liverpool 2012/13 thread is just people "obsessed" by Liverpools "greatness" and how people "cant stop posting there" "we are the most talked about team"

Remind you of another thread?

Preston North End won the first FA Cup, does this make them the best English side?

Nottingham Forest has won the European Championship more times than Celtic.

No one really cares that Celtic where the first. Sadly for Scotland, they will probably be the only winner.
