Post by bapa »

Over 50,000 professional football players from across the globe submitted their votes for the FIFA/FIFPro World XI. Every voting player selected one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards.

2011 is the third edition of this special FIFA/FIFPro award, and the team is as follows:

Iker Casillas; Daniel Alves, Gerard Pique, Sergio Ramos, Nemanja Vidic; Andres Iniesta, Xabi Alonso, Xavi; Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney.

Wasn't Vidic injured for a large portion of last year?

Seems pretty spot on to me, although I think they could have a bench as there is a few names I would like to also see included!
Tommy: We've lost Gorgeous George.

Brick Top: Well, where'd you lose him? He ain't a set of fucking car keys now, is he? And it ain't as if he's incon-fucking-spicuous now, is it?

Rooney..?? Not being bias but were is RVP - 36 goals for Arsenal & a few for Holland aswell in 2011 - I think 5 in 1 game! Is this based on trophies won or the Barca FC dream team :?

Valdes sucks, should be Reina in goals. I'd take an injured Vidic over a fully fit Kompany. Van Pansy is interesting, he scores the goals but Rooney does so much more.

no Tony Hibbert?
Dixie Dean was hailed by another Mersey legend, Liverpool’s Bill Shankly, as “belonging in the company of the supremely great, like Beethoven, Rembrandt and Shakespeare.”

I'd rather a bloke with explosive potential and guile, than a bloke who occasioanaly pops up with some brilliance when his manager chooses to give him a game. Just an opinion of course..................
