Not sure who writes in, I read it on my phone and don't take too much notice. TBH it's not a patch on the Fiver circa 2001.

Anyhow the reason I asked.

John Barnes is one of the most accomplished players in the history of British football. But for all his achievements with a ball, arguably his greatest moment came at Goodison Park in 1988 when, with one supercool backflick of his boot, he disdainfully dispatched a banana that had been thrown at him straight back off the park. In one insouciant swipe, racism symbolically undone with wit, skill and panache, the banana no longer carried any terrible political potency. Instead, it became merely a fleshy tube, a signpost from which, if you traced back the arc along which it had travelled from the stands, you would be guaranteed to find another sort of fleshy tube.
Or you usually are, anyway. Because the polis are having a bit of difficulty, it seems, finding the toolkit who flung a banana on to the pitch during the 83rd minute of the Brazil Handing Scotland's muscat To Them Extravaganza At The Emirates yesterday afternoon. Lucas Leiva removed the offending item from Scotland's penalty area, and later bemoaned its unwelcome insertion into Allan McGregor's box [behave - Fiver Ed]. "There is no more space for racism in the world," began the Liverpool midfielder eloquently. "They say it's the first world here in Europe, but it's where it happens the most. That has to change. Everybody is equal today. It's a matter of respect." Neymar, who handed Scotland's muscat to them, one buttock at a time, added that "this atmosphere of racism is totally sad. They were jeering me a lot. Even when I was about to kick the penalty, the entire stadium was jeering."
But the situation isn't quite as cut and dried as it seems. For a start, the banana appears to have entered the playing area from an end packed with Brazilian fans. Meanwhile a spokesperson for the Tartan Army has categorically denied Flock of Seagulls tribute act Neymar was booed for the colour of his skin. "Racism has no place within the Tartan Army and, if it did exist, it would be stamped out immediately," said Hamish Husband, who suggested the player received pelters for "feigning injury" after a collision with Scott Brown.
With head bobby Mark Sheeran reporting that "the Scottish fans' behaviour was first class" and that "there were no issues at all inside the stadium", all the evidence so far collated suggests that there was, at worst, just one person in a crowd of 53,087 who is in dire need of a fierce clip round the back of the nut, accompanied by some beneficial advice bellowed at top volume into their cauliflower ear. Which still isn't perfect, of course, but at least we've come a long way from the bleak days of the 1980s.

A German teenage tourist has admitted throwing a banana at Brazil star Neymar at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, Arsenal football club have confirmed.
Neymar accused Scotland fans of racist behaviour during Brazil's 2-0 win.
The Scottish Football Association denied the claims that he was racially abused by the Tartan Army.
A club statement read: "The Metropolitan Police are satisfied there was no racist intent and no further action will be taken."
An SFA statement on Monday said: "The Scottish FA refutes claims from Neymar that he was the victim of racist jeers."

It said there was no evidence of it but Scotland fans had confirmed booing him "for perceived unsporting behaviour."
The SFA added: "Scotland supporters are known for impeccable behaviour."

It's the famous one!

The King scored that day too. But it was the year before that Kenny started embarrassing English 'keepers.
