Surprise, surprise, the blundering Atwell has been left without a game this weekend.

He should be consigned to League 2 until he learns how to do the job.

demand that the kick be taken from where the infringement occurred
use common sense
actually watch the play for a change

according to the laws, the ref got it spot on.

However, every player on the pitch knew that the free kick had not been taken.
Things I am owed because they're too tight to pay up:

Except Torres and maybe Kuyt. Otherwise why did they chase the ball? Defender basically stuffed up really.

Then why does torres look back at the ref before he passes. He's looking to see if he has gotten away with it.

so the consensus on FB is Turner was 100% faultless and it's ok to take free kicks 25 yards behind where the infringement took place?
killa re!

It's funny how, every commentator, every ex-player, every ex-referee, every journalist, EXCEPT those that support Liverpool, knows it was unsporting. Within the rules since the ref had apparently waved play on (he didn't blow his whistle) but outside the spirit of the game. A telling sign is that Atwell, whilst publicly backed by the refs association, has been dumped from this week's games.

Why would any defender backheel a pass then walk away with his back to it?

A sign of the desperation at Anfield. These things have a way of coming back to haunt you.

This was the beach ball thing coming back to haunt Sunderland.

You care way too much about this btw.

blah blah blah.....the only desperation I see is your ongoing complex with this issue.
Surely you're not worried that the worst Liverpool in decades might be a threat your pretenders dressed in white?

Common to take a quick look at the ref when its noisy. Then, the old adage took place when "play the whistle", he did, and goal was scored.
Lesson to be learned - if you arent going to take a free kick or intend to - dont kick it!!
As you said, the ref was spot on.
Beach ball karma - time to move on.

If Turner has his way, that's where the ball would have ended up.
The foul was just (<5 yards) outside the centre circle. He rolled the ball back approx 25 yards behind the actual infringement.

Maybe he thought there was an offside call behind him? Maybe he thought the foul had been called further back despite no phase of play happening there?
Either way, it was a silly error and misjudgement on his behalf.

You're "take it where the foul was and all ok" theory does not hold.

your

are you suggesting that Mingolet had to take the free kick where he was standing when Turner rolled it to him?
many players like to place the ball themselves for a free kick
the FA has proved that they thought Atwell was not up to scratch by not giving him a game to ref this week... not even a league 2 game
typical deluded Liverpool fan
