Hearts swoop for Aussie duo
tribalfooball.com - September 18, 2006
Hearts have confirmed the signings of Aussie teenage duo Ryan McGowan and Rocco Visconte. The Herald says the pair have signed three-year contracts and join compatriot Matthew Park at Tynecastle after recommendation from former club captain Dave McPherson.
McGowan, a 17-year-old defender, and Visconte, a 16-year-old striker, are both highly regarded in their homeland and have been capped at Under-17 level. Indeed the rate of McGowan's development has seen him rewarded with a place in Australia's Under-20 set-up, and he made his debut in August against the Chilean club, Universidad de Chile.
