pienaars feet were in play so it shouldnt have been taken away.

very good game nevertheless, attacking play from both sides. you can see the effort the south africans are putting in to win it. the atmosphere is showing in them.

Firstly it's South Africa v Mexico.
Secondly it was offside - learn your rules.

firstly who gives a shiraz.
secondly, wasent offside where an attacker recieves a ball 'behind' the last defender when its kicked or interferes with the balls trajectory? that defender being peinaar... or have the rules changed again?... :?

You have to have two defenders in front of you to not be offside. Usually one is the keeper (but doesn't have to be). In this case he only had the defender on the line in from of him. He was closer to the goal line than the keeper so who is the second defender playing him onside?

I question your knowledge of the offside law if you think that wasn't. Have you actually played the game?

well thats just stupid and causes an unnessacary amount of confusion. so does the keeper automatically become an outfield player once a defender goes behind him?... :?

Unnecessary confusion is players not knowing the rules disputing decisions. You have to have to be inline with the second last defender to be onside. They don't have to be the keeper but one usually is. In this case he wasn't.

how is it confusing?

You have to have 2 opposition players between you and the goal line when the ball is played (with a few exceptions), it says nothing about the positions they play, they could be the striker and the right midfielder.

so off a cross, and the keeper misses it, if 2 defenders are on the goal line its onside, 1 defender its offside??

i see the rule twat. im merely stating that its stupid that the keeper can come into play for the offside rule. it should stick to the 10 outfield players.

You're the one making an issue of the keeper. We are saying it doesn't matter who the two players are.

clearly you don't.

It's simple 2 players, do you want it to be 1 plus the keeper or should it now be 2 outfield players or just 1 outfield player. What happens when the keeper goes up for a corner?

It's not stupid, it's perfectly clear. 2 OPPOSITION PLAYERS! I despair I really do, and you'll probably tell a ref he got a decision wrong tomorrow as well.

On the general basis quite often when players whinge to referees/linesmen about decisions it's more often a case of players not knowing the rules than officials fuc*ing up.

We've already established you don't know the rules and disputed a decision because of it.
