Chelsea v Aston Villa

Post by Chelsea4thewin »

Chelsea 7 (yes thats correct) Aston Villa 1

what a game, best we have probably played all year, with 3 of our 4 first choice defenders and drogba on the bench we dominated

Frankie Lampard with 4 goals, super effort, also thought joe cole played an excellent game

this is the form we want to going into next weeks blockbuster at old trafford

Tommy: We've lost Gorgeous George.

Wouldn't say pretenders, more like a developing club, that has come a long way on a limited budget.

Impressive win!

!5 shots on goal, 13 on target and 7 goals. A great day out.!

Thought the first penalty was a clear dive though. Still cant believe Villa were that bad.

A developing club??

Have you seen our trophy cabernet.

May not have won much in the last few years but hardly a developing club.

And as for El Capitano, I hardly take any of his posts seriously anyway.

Surely it was unintentional?
Now, if you're lucky, you could hack through your ankle in five minutes.

Good to see him playing with a more creative midfield. Mikel still needs to be replaced for Essien.

I honestly think we play better with 1 striker, did it under Hiddink and i think it works now too.

Deco, Joe Cole, and Malouda created alot more space/chances for Lamps, and the result... well the scoreline speaks for itself.

More of a fluid strategy.

Will be interesting to see what he does against Man U.

Aren't they both being rested? Drogba's switch could have been strategic though. With Wayne's knee and the fact that you have a game against Bayern and then Chelsea could be why he's being rested.

being rested ? chelski doesnt have any mid week game so why is drogba need to be rested ?? aston villa is quite a good team (yea i know the scoreline speak the other way round but they certainly grab few points away from chelski over the past few seasons) !!

as for rooney, im not surprise that he's being rested .. but not even on the bench ? now that's a surprise .. imagine if bolton score an early goal against us ? we will need to sub him in in 60th ++ and score twice to grab us the 3 points !!

I did say in the second sentence that it could have been strategic. The games that he hasn't played we've smashed teams. I actually think we played a better style of football without him, but he is the safe bet for a goal.

Will be interesting to see the lineup against Man U.

Good move by Ancelotti in hindsight.

It's hard to say because you can't really stop playing a guy that does his job every week.

It's like Ronaldo leaving, everyone thought you were screwed without him, but a tactic adjustment and you're still a good team.

The same could be said for us without Drogba, i'm pretty sure we've won every single game he hasn't played.

Anelka scored in every CL match, and setup a few goals last weekend for malouda and lamps. With Deco and Joe Cole opening up alot of space, i think it says something for playing 5 in the midfield too.

Could be a Didier lone striker role like you guys do with Rooney next week.

Drogba copped a whack on the ankle at the end of the Portsmouth game and limped off the pitch. May have been a bit of theatre, but still probably the reason he was on the bench. It also keeps O'Neill guessing in the lead up to the FA Cup semi.
Time for some righteous indignation
