Giuseppe Rossi to Newcastle

Post by SPURS18 »

Rossi loaned to Toon Manchester United have loaned Italian youngster Giuseppe Rossi to Newcastle. The Magpies, stricken by injury to Michael Owen as well as the retirement of Alan Shearer, have borrowed the 19-year-old until 1 January 2007. The Italian striker will link up with the Magpies immediately and, according to Sir Alex Ferguson, will gain some invaluable first team experience. [+]

Good move ala Juve style.
Alot of Italian teams do this, but I usually only follow the various Juve players around the leagues.

Newcastle have agreed terms with United to take Giuseppe Rossi on loan until 1 January 2007.

The Italian striker will link up with the Magpies immediately and, according to Sir Alex Ferguson, will gain some invaluable first team experience.

"It was a big decision for us especially as we don't have the choice of strikers," admitted the United boss. "But this is something that Giuseppe wanted as he needs regular first team football.

"When he returns he will be a more experienced player who will be able to offer us much more."

As a condition of all loan deals between Premiership clubs, the 19-year-old will not be allowed to play for Newcastle when they visit Old Trafford on 1 October.

Rossi joined United in July 2004 from Serie A side Parma. After impressing for the Reserves in his first few months at Old Trafford, he earned a well deserved call-up to the senior team.

His first team debut came in the Carling Cup victory over Crystal Palace in November 2004. He has since made a further 13 appearances, bagging four goals in the process

martins isnt injured he will be back for fulham...ameobi is the one having troubles at the momment....but hopefully this striker will last coz hes only on loan...every player we buy tends to go down injured!! but a fully fit and fireing squad at newcastle rivals the top 3 in english football anyday!!

please stop making me laugh... Newcastle at their absolute best will barely make the UEFA Cup, they spend millions on two/three strikers who are out of form / injured and have two good central midfielders... thats it!
Their defence would rate as garbage at best and their depth is much to be desired...

look at the 2002/2003 season they finished 3rd and in past years they have allways been strong...and with one of the biggest supporter bases in england how can u doubt that if they had their full squad and their best team on the park that they wouldnt be a top 3 club....these last two seasons of epl they have been rarther unlucky that their team hasnt really geled together or they have had a run of bad luck with injuries....not once could you say they have had full strength side 100% fit
