WCQ: Ireland v Australia
2-0 half time to the Aussies.
Awesome first half performance.
Particularly impressed with Ryhs Williams, certainly looking to be a mainstay in the lineup.
SuperTimmy Cahill as usual at his electric best with 2 goals in the half.
North and Kisnorbo at the back look tight although at one time Robbie Keane dropped the shoulder and Kisnorbo was lost - mind you Keano has done this a thousand times to the very best of defenders.
Left back Carney has looked good and forms a good partnership with Kewell on the left there, i think this will be our WC 2010 pairing for the left side.
Wilkshire holding with Jedinak, both impressive but Wilkshire moreso with his touch and his run, his engine is amazing.
I'm not even sure who is playing right back because Ryhs is killing it on that side of the park, can't make out if he is full back or right wing. I think Bresciano is meant to be on the right but drifts in a lot due to the work rate of Williams (which is a good thing.)
All in all a good half and looking forward to the next 45.

So it's that the end of having any chance of playing England in a friendly in the lead up to the World Cup

It was what you call a "double or quits" game, we gambled our spot in the 2010 World Cup with Irelands qualification for 2014 (they qualify automatically as hosts) so we have now qualified for 2014! Well done Australia
P.S. I hope we never become like England always thinking were going to win - great result but lets take it one world cup at a time

Australia played very very well, was actually surprised the way they pushed the ball around, the best game theyve played under Pim since he took the reigns, a good sign
