Stoke City v Manchester City

Post by Missing Post Count »

None of the last 13 meetings between the Citizens and the Potters has ended in a draw.
Craig Bellamy has scored four goals in his last three away games.
Stoke have failed to score in their last three home matches.
Only Manchester United, Chelsea and Everton have won at the Britannia this season.
Man City have won the last four league games against the Potters.
Robinho scored a hat-trick the last time the two sides met back at the end of October.
Stoke have won none of their last nine Premier League matches and have taken just one point from the last 18 available.
The Citizens have taken 10 points form the last 12 available in the Premier League.
Mark Hughes’ side have dropped 15 points from winning positions – more than any other team.

Stoke is a funny one. Mind you, Manchester City are a hot and cold team too.

what i love about there goal is delap gets sent off.
they get a throw in where he does his long bomb throws
which they haven't scored from since late november.
they try something different with the short throw keep
possession - cross - goal.. learn something Tony Pulis.
football is about possession.

Wright Phillips should have been in trouble as well.

I really don't think it is, you see tonnes of teams week in and week out dominate possession but only get a draw or even worse lose to a goal scored on a quick counter. Football is about Opportunism and innovation.

didnt see the final stats but stoke must have had about 30% possession. we didnt create many scoring chance with our 70%. lots of lovely passing 30 or 40 yards out but not enough in the box. a game where we would of been better off playing against 11 rather than 10. they almost pulled a similar game off against chelsea, just put enough bodies in their own box and makes it hard. you need to score first against them to force them to attack. very frustrating side.
