RIP Gerry Marsden, he of the monster hit “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.

Gerry Marsden, frontman of the classic 1960s group Gerry and the Pacemakers has died aged 78.

Liverpool fans adopted the group’s hit to become one of the most famous football anthems in the World.

One of their other hits “Ferry Cross the Mersey” was one of my favourites which I saw them perform @ a North Adelaide hotel in the early 70s at a Sunday arvo “recovery” session after we all got plastered at the same venue the night before.

Certainly one of my favourites back in the day. Great voice. Will be missed.
