ETFC

Post by English »

Another fine advertisement for the game. When are the league going to grow some balls and actually punish the clubs and players who just want to fight every week?

ETFC for at least the second time this season would rather punch on than play football.

Had them fighting a club linesman earlier in the season, and they decided to punch on yesterday.

If we don’t draw attention to their behaviour, they’ll just keep doing it.

When are SAASL going to put something in place to protect players against these idiots?

Don’t think many teams can claim to be angels, but that’s four teams who have apparently had issues with ETFC. I watched a cup game prior to the season started where they were running around trying to kick a team because they were 8 goals down.

Any club found guilty of this sort of behaviour should be made to purchase a camera that is suitable of recording their games as part of their fine.

Let the league see the footage, then there can be no doubt if its a club issue or just particular players, and they can dealt with accordingly.

Isn't normal protocol

1. Play race card
2. Get a Federal MP involved

Cobras moved to collegiate this year seemed a much safer league which in my opinion was to do with the teams and coaching/ player personnel in the amatuer league individuals always starting fights etc

I have just read where Flinders, one of the oldest clubs in SAASL, , is also moving all their teams across to the Collegiate League next season.

And the statement read that it was due to playing games closer to home, higher quality facilities, increased access to official referees and to reunite all their teams within the same league structure.

They definitely raise some good points, our club constantly has the C team travelling to different grounds to our As and Bs and at times it was Davoren Park to Hackam and that essentially cuts out all those players and supporters being involved in the As and Bs.

The referees we’ve experienced this year have been nothing short of disappointing, and every time feedback was provided - we seemed to get them time and time again after that. We played 21 league games and had the same referee on 5 occasions. But if Div 3 is having official referees, surely Div 2 had official referees?

Where does the league go now? We’ve got a number of 1-2 team clubs and we now have a situation where Divs 3 and 4 are down to 8 or less teams.

Is it time to go to 3 divisions of 12? Force the top two divisions to have a C team and the third division have a B team so we can line up these divisions up because it’s just not sustainable for clubs to send players to all parts every second week.

Also interesting to note that Salisbury United & Birkalla will be fielding CSL teams next season .. Many years ago they had teams in the SAASL .
The flexibility for Feds clubs to have CSL teams assist with keeping people at the club but also interchange players between the two during the season ...

Be interesting in how the current SAASL clubs with FSA affiliation will go in the future .

Are you saying that FSA registered players can play CSL?
