Whats going on with Wolves and Titans

Post by The Eagle »

It seems concerning that a decent amnouynt of time has elapsed since the incidents and still no outcomes?

The SAASL needs to take action so no precedent is set.

The precedent has been set
SAASL sit on their hands until

A) the complaining club makes continuous contact and supplies so much evidence they have to do something
B) the complaining club give up

OTH have continued to contact saasl regarding what is happening with wolves and still no answers.

They said that players would appear on suspension list if they were but no players are on their. So it would seem you can get away with king hitting someone from behind which causes the game to be abandoned.
Next time the victim might not be so lucky and could be seriously injured.

Wolves have been continuing to play games and players have still been playing .

The hearing was over 2 weeks ago and the refs report stated everything that happened including player who king hit......

So what's happening???????? SAASL

Grow some balls and make a impactive decision which shows clubs and players can't get away with this behaviour.

I heard that solicitors were now being involved re the Titans game, which may be why its dragging out?

What about yellow cards received prior to the game being abandonded would have meant in suspensions this week, will they occur?

A senior member at titans is a lawyer, so that doesn't surprise me.

The normal scenario is cautions and red cards still count even if match abandoned.

as far as ive seen there is a lot less issues and those that have come up have been dealt with.

one team was kicked out for playing a illegal player under another name last season of course that team is back in the SAASL now :D.

Having referees for all fixtures is maybe another positive too even reserves in the lower leagues.

If it's run by the FFSA, then no.

Is he going to argue that all the supporters and coach who ran onthe pitch as per the videos were just random spectators and that a bad tackle / verbal comments by a player on the pitch is no longer the refs decision on how to deal with it, its more in the realm of the 'random' spectators wearing titans colours?

I hope its the same lawyer that OJ Simpson off?

Have you seen this video?

So far, we've not had one first hand account of what actually happened.

Collegiate ISNT run by the FFSA... its affiliated to the FFSA.
It is run many times better in terms of dealing with this sort of shiraz...
Player grabbed the ref a few weeks ago and was suspended for 3 months within the week and the team he played for lost the game 3-0 forfeit (they were winning 1-0 at the time)
Its easy... have your rules and enforce them in a timely manner.... kick out players and teams who are in gross breach of said rules.... do it quickly and maintain a consistent approach...

Sounds like how it should be.

There have been no Wolves players suspended over this matter by saasl, so it appears you can king hit others or do what you want and get away with it.
There have been no points deducted and don't even know if the club have been fined or anything and that was also after it was shown that wolves played unregistered or suspended players too.

P1ss poor.... what is the point in having rules/codes of conducts for clubs, supporters and players if no breaches get punished.

From what I've been told, it's PAC who actually got their lawyers involved.

I joined the Collegiate league for the first time this year ( div 4 about C grade level ) enjoying it a lot, games are competitive and played in good spirit, have seen some quality players at the top level, apparently some of the sides do okay in the cup against State league teams.

Titans got smashed 5 nil, One titans Muppet on the sidelines got a bit lippy and got talked to by a steward, a certain player was missing from the titans line up and probably the reason it was a quiet afternoon

Northern wolves have basically been fined $500 and no players have been suspended or points deducted.

Very poor decision and leaves these clubs and players to get away with it once again.
The main players have continued to play without punishment.

joke!

Couldn't agree more... it has to affect the 'desirability' of playing in the league to some when these stories come out on an almost regular basis and don't get sorted...
Stuff happens and idiots will always be idiots in any league or sport BUT the way a problem is handled is much more important in terms of how the overall issue is perceived. Have b]never understood why clubs, players etc aren't pinged hard.. it can't be money related as SAASL have cash...so what drives the impotence in dealing with king hits, fingers up bum etc!

I guess rules, codes of conduct etc will always be broken but you would expect the association to uphold the rules and codes of conduct when they are breached.

Otherwise what's the point in having any. It doesn't deter these teams or players has they know they will get away with it.
