Craig Laird's SAASL Sunday Premier Division
League Round 4 - Round Up

Match of the Day
ELIZABETH Downs have shown no mercy in an 8-0 humbling off their local rival Elizabeth Vale at Moflin Road.
The Downs, who have won all three games, would have expected a strong challenge from the undefeated Vale but on 11 minutes the visitors grabbed the lead when a Darcy Clark through ball picked out Billy Allottee who coolly took the ball down before picking his spot.
Daniel Nicholls went close for the Vale on 16 minutes but a minute later it was 2-0 when Braiden Gundlach fired home from an angle.
On 26 minutes a Matt Watson shot was deflected onto the bar by Vale keeper Andy Kokot but unluckily the rebound fell to Allottee on the line who headed in the easiest of goals.
The 2nd half was one way traffic with five goals scored in a 20 minute spell which included a Watson hat trick and goals from Matt Wise and Luke Lawley.
Downs coach Alan Mottram “We turned up ready to play, things went our way and the boys played well.”

In Other Games, Para Hills East caused the shock of the day with a 4-1 win over Ingle Farm at Walkleys Park.
The newly promoted East were in search of their first point of the year and on the half hour they took the lead when Angus Ducker beat the offside trap before taking his chance with confidence.
After the break East continued to push and on 55 minutes Ducker doubled the lead and 10 minutes later Ducker headed home from an Aaron Walters cross to secure his hat trick.
The visitors were in dream land on 70 minutes when Jake McCabe shifted the ball onto his left foot before firing home to make it 4-0.
Shane Pearce scored a late consolation for Farm but it couldn’t dampen a great day for Easties coach Ryan Bastable “It just clicked today and I’m really pleased to see the players get some reward for their efforts.”

Salisbury Inter returned to winning ways with a 6-0 thumping of Modbury Vista at Underdown Park.
Inter were looking for a response from a 6-0 belting by Elizabeth Downs in round 3 and on 15 minutes they were in front when Boree Kieng converted from the penalty spot.
Marcus Marchioro made it 2-0 on 20 minutes and soon after Matt Marchioro found the net before Kieng rounded off a fine first half display with his 2nd and Inter’s fourth.
After the break Vista lifted but on the hour a Chris Fleming cross was deflected into the Vista goal to make it 5-0 and the route was complete when Fleming hit the scoresheet to make it six.
Inter coach Steve Cook “The main thing today was that we saw a response to our poor display last week.”

PARAFIELD Gardens have ended Salisbury Florina’s unbeaten start to the season with a 3-1 win at Bradman Oval.
Florina took a lead to the half time break with a goal against the run of play from the inform Kale Wicker.
Gardens drew level within the first three minutes of the 2nd half and then took the lead on 65 minutes when Brendan McConnell converted from the penalty spot.
The match was sealed on 75 minutes when Alban Martini finished coolly to complete a fine 2nd half display by Gardens.
Gardens coach Louis Brain “We had some really good chances in the 1st half which we missed but the guys showed great fight and spirit in the 2nd half to get the three points.”
BRAHMA Lodge have moved into 2nd place after a 3-1 win over Southern Knights at Southern Knights oval.
Knights have shown signs that they will be a tough opponent this season and that was on show again as they held the champions Brahma lodge to a 0-0 score line at the break.
After the break Lodge’s quality started to shine and on 55 minutes Michael Mullen was fouled and he stepped up to convert the resulting penalty.
Stand in coach Ben Challinor brought on Nathan Hart and Hart wasted no time getting on the scoresheet to make it 2-0 before capping a great game with a classy lob over the keeper to make it 3-0.
Knights grabbed a late consolation from the penalty spot.
Lodge coach Ben Challinor “Knights will take points of team throughout the season so we are pleased to be taking the three points today.”
