Old Clubs

Post by DYP »

Out of curiosity what happened to these clubs?

Did they fold? Did they merge with another club?

I noticed they were Div 1 or Div 2 Saturday clubs.

Eastern Suburbs Marche
East Side Eagles
AM Adelaide
West End United

Tubemakers....gone
Adelaide Celtic...gone but rumours of a re-emergence.
The Pines.....think the morphed and merged in the end...started as Madison Park then Salisbury East...
Postel...still around
Torrescuso....will have to check
Noarlunga Lions....gone
Limnos...think they changed their name...

Stingrays finished bottom of their Division in 2013 and didn't re-appear in 2014.
Think one of the moderators arxidi might know what happened to Limnos Stingrays..

Eastside Eagles use to play on Silkes Road Paradise, one time were coached by former Juventus star Joe Serafini, then later by Ben Fragomeli, and the first team squad include Carlo Talladira.
Not sure what happen to them, they had a good social aspect to the club.

Monarchs have had a few name changes, are now known as Monarchs Social Club ( Monarchs SC )

Did they play at St Clair? I think I played against them for the Northern District Redbacks who are also now sadly defunct.

Elizabeth Fields were a fairly big club, I think they even played in Div 1 Sunday at one stage
