Craig Laird's SAASL Sunday Premier Division Round 13 Round Up

MATCH OF THE DAY
SALISBURY INTER vs BRAHMA LODGE
A Robbie Macdonald double has helped Brahma Lodge to an important 3-1 win over Salisbury Inter at Underdown Park.
Lodge came into the game with a two point lead with a game in hand over the 2nd placed Elizabeth Downs while Inter were looking to continue a run that has seen them undefeated at home this season.
On 15 minutes Brahma keeper Jimmy McKee had to be at his best to deny a shot from Russell Deeley and moments later when the Inter defence failed to clear a long throw an Eric Camarinha shot went struck the post.
Brahma took the lead on 31 minutes when Peter McDermott cut in from the left before firing a shot that Inter keeper Jayden Shepard could only parry into the path of Robbie Macdonald who took his chance well.
The lead only lasted four minutes when Inter were awarded a penalty that Chris Fleming slotted as the teams went to the break 1-1.
Inter came close on 57 minutes when Daniel Roadley toe poked a shot against the cross bar and moments later Brahma’s Michael Mullen spurned a great chance firing over from close range.
Brahma regained the lead on 73 minutes when Mullen thundered in a brilliant volley and five minutes later the game was settled when Macdonald took advantage of some sloppy inter defending to sweep the ball home to the delight of the Brahma fans.
Inter coach Steve Cook “I was really proud of my boys today but credit to Brahma on getting the win.”

A Ben De Bono hat trick led the way to a comfortable 6-2 win for Elizabeth Downs over Parafield Gardens at Bradman Oval.
The Maroons stamped their authority on the game with an impressive first half with two goals from De Bono and one from Matt Watson giving the visitors a 3-0 lead.
Gardens Paul Whitney scored early after the break to give the home fans hope but that was snuffed out by Tommy Blackett who scored two 2nd half goals along with De Bono who completed his hat trick while Louis Brain scored a superb consolation goal for Parafield.

INGLE Farm were held to a 3-3 draw against cellar dweller Tea Tree Gully at Tilley Reserve.
The first half was an entertaining affair with Chris Deans opening the scoring for Gully before Shane Pearce equalised for Farm.
Gullies Billy Allotey put in a contender for goal of the season only to again see Farm draw level through a Dean Kendrick header.
Gully went to the break leading 3-2 but on 55 minutes Musti Ipekdal again drew Farm level.
Farm desperately pushed for a winner with Liam Mulvaney crashing a strike off the crossbar but try as they might they couldn’t find the winner.

ELIZABETH Grove secured their first clean sheet of the season with a 2-0 win over Salisbury Florina at Dauntsey Road.
The Peckers took the lead on the half hour when a Jarred Foster dummy on halfway fooled everyone except Lindsay Cooper who ran on to the ball before coolly finishing.
The game was sealed on 70 minutes when Florina keeper Jamie Hart did well to deny Brad Docherty but the rebound fell to Kahman Grieg who slid the ball into the unguarded net.
AARON Westerveld’s Elizabeth Vale made it two wins on the bounce with a 2-1 win over bottom of the table West Beach at Lockleys Oval.
The visiting Vale took a 2-0 lead to the break thanks to goals from Chris Nicholls and Jarred Ebert.
Beach grabbed a lifeline on the hour through Mickey Hannah but the Vale held firm to take all three points and move up to 6th on the table.
