INGLE FARM vs SALISBURY INTER
INGLE Farm has moved to 3rd on the Premier division table after a 2-1 win over Salisbury Inter at Walkleys Park.
Both teams came into the game knowing that a win was crucial to keep any hopes of a 2016 League title challenge alive.
Farm opened the scoring on 25 minutes when a Nurbin Masoud shot was blocked but Liam Mulvaney was on hand to fire the ball home to the delight of the local support.
The lead was doubled on 38 minutes when Shane Pearce showed a touch of class by chipping the keeper from 20 yards.
After a disappointing 1st half Inter lifted after the break and on the hour were back in the game when an Alban Martini cross was hooked in by skipper Michael Marchioro.
Inter had a couple of good opportunities to equalise with Chris Fleming denied by Farm keeper Tony Shaw and substitute Marcus Marchioro just failed to get his header on target from close range.
Farm held on for the win which pleased coach Paul Simpson “I’m always pleased to take three points from Inter as they always give us a tough game. I’m happy with the way the boys have responded in the last couple of weeks.
Inter’s Steve Cook was left to rue a poor 1st half display “It really was a game of two halves, we were really disappointing in the 1st half but the boys certainly lifted in the 2nd half”.
PARAFIELD Gardens scored a character building come from behind 3-2 win over Elizabeth Vale at Bradman Oval.
Early goals for Michael Francis and captain Jimmy Greaves gave the visiting Vale an early two goal lead before Parafield struck back when a Lumi Adisa cross found Paul Whitney who bulleted his header into the net.
The teams went to the break locked at 2-2 when Oathman ‘Ozzie’ Fazilahmed Oathman ‘Ozzie’ Fazilahmed fired home from 25 yards.
The winner came with only five minutes left on the clock when Simon Catanzaro got on the end of a Tyson Prescott pass before curling his shot into the top corner.
Gardens coach Louis Brain “The boys showed great character to come back today”.
BRAHMA Lodge survived an early scare to run out 4-1 winners of Tea Tree Gully at Tilley Recreation Park.
Gully took a surprise lead when Billy Allotty got on the end of a long ball before firing home.
The lead was short lived as Peter McDermott got on the end of a Freddy Aguis free kick to equalise.
The predatory Robbie Macdonald then gave the visitors the lead before an Aleks Simic cross floated over the Gully keeper and into the net to make it 3-1 at the break. Michael Mullen rounded out the scoring as the Lodgers made it seven wins from seven games.
ELIZABETH Downs remain three points off top spot after a 4-0 win over local rival Elizabeth Grove at Argana Park
Mat Watson scored a brace for the Maroons with Michael Cartwright and Braiden Gundlach also on the scoresheet while the visiting Peckers finished with nine players after having Kahmen Grieg and Jarred Foster sent off.
SALISBURY Florina cruised to a 3-0 win over a disappointing West Beach at Lockleys Oval.
Simon Wagner scored the opener for the visitors but it was Jason Trimboli who scored the goal of the day when he blasted a shot into the top left hand corner. Luke Singlewood rounded out the scoring for the visitors.
