Match of The Day
ELIZABETH GROVE vs SOUTHERN KNIGHTS
Elizabeth Grove came from a goal down at halftime to defeat Sunday 2nd division Southern Knights 4-1 at Dauntsey Road.
The Peckers, Challenge Cup winners in 1997, were looking to put some indifferent league form behind them but found themselves behind when Knights Ross Fraser turned his defender before tucking away the opening goal.
The Peckers looked for a spark after the break and they got it through a fine Kahmen Grieg free kick on 48 minutes which was fired home from 20 yards.
Seven minutes later the home team were in front when a Gage Ferdinand cross from the left hand side picked out Jarred Foster who made no mistake with his header.
Foster was at it again soon after when Grieg played him through and he finished coolly to the delight of the Pecker faithful.
The Grove finished the game off in style when Sean Almond chipped the out coming Knights keeper to make it 4-1.
Grove coach Shane Golder “I’ve been saying we will be a dangerous team when we start playing 90 minutes. We will need to find that consistency for next week’s game against Elizabeth Downs”.

Sunday Premier League leader Brahma Lodge made light work of Adelaide Uni 2 as they cruised to a 7-0 win at Adelaide Uni Oval #2.
Robbie Macdonald was again on the scoresheet with a hat trick while Jay Crescenzi, Peter McDermott, Phid Coumi and Mathew Bekerovski all scored one each.
A Strong 2nd half performance has seen Elizabeth Vale progress to round 3 of the Challenge Cup with a 7-0 win over Saturday division 4 leaders MU Stars at Kalara Reserve
The five time Challenge Cup winners opened the scoring on four minutes when player/coach Aaron Westervelt whipped in a cross to that back post which was superbly met by Dave Westall who headed the ball home.
The pick of the goals came from the experienced Tim Crawford who curled a fine free kick into the top corner from 25 yards.
A Kale Whicker hat trick helped Salisbury Florina to a comfortable 6-2 win over Prince Alfred at Park 19.
Prince Alfred are currently league leaders in the Saturday division 3 and they fought hard early before being overrun by the more seasoned Florina outfit.
Whicker, playing his 1st full game for Florina, bagged three while Jason Trimboli, Beau Singlewood and BJ McCormack all scored one each.
2014 Challenge Cup Winners Elizabeth Downs are through to round 3 after a 3-0 win against a plucky Adelaide Wanderers at Argana Park.
The teams were locked at 0-0 at the break as the visiting Wanderers were eyeing a cup shock but those hopes were soon extinguished with a Tommy Blackett goal. Matt Watson and Matthew Wise goals followed to seal a comfortable win for the Maroons and ensure the Downs name will be in the round 3 hat.
In other games 2015 Cup winners Ingle Farm proved too strong for Burundi Eagles 5-1, Salisbury Inter moved into round 3 with a 3-0 win over Noarlunga, Para Hills West held out fellow Sunday Division 2 team Pontian Eagles 2-1 and Tea Tree Gully prevailed 4-1 over Macedonia.
