Sunday Div 3 2016 - Results, News, Banter

Post by Hatchet Squad »

The clue is in the title. Thought we could put our results in one easy to find thread, along with any other news, banter associated with Div 3. Should be an interesting year.

Definitely be an interesting season, 5 teams up from Div 4 now, we have recruited well, Noarlunga looked good on the w'end against us and Athelstone have got some new lads.

All the best to all teams, should be a tight one at the top.

Ressies
Blue Eagles 2 - 3 Seaford

First team
Blue Eagles 5 - 3 Seaford

Some of the worst refereeing I have ever seen. Player sent off after 40 minutes for a cynical foul but never a red card. I Approached the ref at the start of the 2nd half to clarify why he was sent off and he said for violent conduct. Appalling decision and the wrong classification.
He then tells us to read the 'laws of the game'. An absolute jobsworth. To Blue Eagles credit they.got.the job done on their matchbox pitch (why they dont use the main pitch is beyond me. It was available). Even their coach said he would back our player when we challenge the 'violent' conduct dismissal.

You might want to find out how much it is to appeal a red card / suspension
then if your committee will pay for it

I understand that but the classification of violent conduct would suggest he tried to break his leg or elbowed him in the face. A cynical foul it was; on the corner of the 18 yard box. He was not the last man as we had defenders coming across.
How much is it incidently?

What does the last man have to do with violent conduct? I am pretty sure the two are not mutually exclusive.

Considering it was not violent conduct and it wasn't a case of being last man denying a goal scoring opportunity, a red card was harsh. To then classify it as violent conduct means a minimum 3 game suspension as opposed to a single game.

Thanks to Payneham for the matches yesterday.

We couldn't finish our chances in front of goals and 2 errors at the back cost us.
Payneham goal keeper pulled of some brilliant saves, man of the match. No 14 for Payneham with 2 goals, did well.

Good banter from the Payneham lads on the side line.

Cheers for hanging around for a few beers as well, all the best for the rest of the season.

Seniors:- Noarlunga 1 - Munno Para 3
Reserves :- Noarlunga 2 - Munno Para 1

Both games extremely competitive and played in good spirits... Munno Para got off to a flying start scoring within the first 5 minutes beating the off side trap ...
Many thanks to the Munno Para for supporting the canteen and bar .. and coming into the clubrooms after .... look forward to the trip up North

A's Seaford 2 - 0 Croatia
B's Seaford 2 - 2 Croatia

Seaford A's keeper was very very lucky not to be sent off in the first few minutes for cleaning up our striker outside the box, one on one, last man was definitely a red card. That's football sometimes.

Anyway thanks to Seaford for 2 good matches today and the hospitality after the match, from one of only two English lads at Croatia, the food was ace, HP SAUCE as well. :D

All the best for the rest of the season.

Firstly, no LOTG ever mentioned a last man.
Secondly, you can't apply changes mid-season.

The well and truly are up to date with it! And it doesn't apply to next
Year....I got sent off Saturday for a challenge with a striker...straight red and a penalty....even though i was standing still and striker ran through me....even the opposition agreed yellow ar worst amd a penalty.....the ref was the head ref of the league and we spoke about it after the game and explained to me he didn't want to send me off and It was harsh but it was the laws of the game and knew about the rule change and said it doesn't apply to next year due to our season starting....
