Saturday Division 6 League Updated on SAASL looks odd...

Post by Chelsea24 »

Hi All,

Just curious, can anyone confirm the following...

- MA Hawks and Cougars fielding C teams this year? (speaking to Cougars at our friendly, didn't seem like it was likely)

-Old Ignatious fielding 2x C teams in Div 5 and Div 6??? :?

Is this finalised by the Federation...?
What happened to St Peters D team?

It looks like Iggies only have four mens teams this year.
Why is half a day at home more tiring than a week at work?

Why aren't they just MA Hawks C's then? Seems a bit odd.

As far as the league and fixtures are concerned they probably are just that. You're just thinking too much into it.

Demand/supply or other reasons?

My sources have them as plenty of players and would mean more than an entire team missing out every week.

across 4 teams - each team with up to 3 out is almost a full team. Our club is the same, sure on a perfect, weekend with all players fit and available, we are having guys sit out - however I have never seen that happen.

What's 3 x 4?

The number I was given missing out at Iggies was 30.

Looking at the fixtures ...
Iggies have 5 teams in:
Div 1 A's
Div 1 B's
Div 5
Div 6
Div 7

Spoke to someone at that club and they only have 4 teams ...
Hope the Federation fixes this asap... season starts next week!!!

Any word on Cougars C team?
And I heard Vipers are struggling still for a C team with numbers...?

I don't understand why clubs pull their teams out at the last moment.

Lack of numbers due to players not being financial.

So are all 9 (if i've counted correctly) teams in Division 6 all definitely playing?

Last year we were in div 7 and a team pulled out and sometimes we had no games for a month.. don't want the same scenario again. The lower divisions seem very poorly planned every year in this competition.

Lowest divisions will always be the hardest to arrange. Common sense tells you that.

Correct. You need a reserves side to play in the top 2 divisions of the Collegiate League.

Still not entirely convinced that this Div 6 is finalised with Sat being game 1 this week...

Any word if Vipers definitely have a C team?
Also Div 7 have 12 teams in it... lots of funny KO times in that Division, teams from Sunday leagues coming over and some D teams from some of the clubs like Iggies, Bosa etc...

Personally I think a C team that can play 11.30am KO and is a 3rd team of a club like Red Blue Eagles or Monarchs can be introduced in the Div 6 league? It's a suggestion anyway...

See what SAASL do with this...? Watch this space...

Prince Alfred has been moved into Div 6 and has taken the Cougars slot,

Still only 8 teams so why not take 2 sides from Div 7 and make both 10 team leagues?
