Short Stacked
A lot of clubs still wanting/needing more players?? My own included (Vipers). Where have all the players gone to?? Is there some clubs with some huge turnouts?

Re: Short Stacked
Actually this is an interesting post, I was having this discussion yesterday and today.
There seems to be alot of clubs struggling for players. We are touch and go with our fourth side this season.
I have heard USC will be fielding four teams and that on Saturday there are applications from 4 new clubs.

Maybe with the changes to the FFSA leagues in 2016 all the state leagues clubs will be trying their hardest to stay out of the bottom 6 & signing any would be if they could be.Hit the Post wrote:A lot of clubs still wanting/needing more players?? I thought players would be flocking to Vipers with next season in mind?
Will you still have the three teams this year at least?

What clubs are still looking for players?
I'm looking at getting back into it this season, fitness is pretty shot right now so would prefer to play for a C team or ressies in a lowed division while working on my fitness.
Still a decent player though, can play defence or mid. 34years old.

I thought the same but it's been quite the opposite, with most trainings only having 16 or so guys showing up. The club will only be fielding an A and B team this year due to numbers and even that looks shaky at the moment.Mr Boombastic wrote:I thought players would be flocking to Vipers with next season in mind?

Fielding four sides is a great effort mate, we are struggling to field just the A&B sides which is a worry.Paleon Patros Germanos wrote:Actually this is an interesting post, I was having this discussion yesterday and today.

Im living the NW suburbs, so any clubs west, north or around the city would be good if anyone is looking.Mr Boombastic wrote:What side of the city are you?Shinkicker02 wrote:What clubs are still looking for players?

Re: Short Stacked
we are kind of north/north east i guess. we may have 1 or 2 spots left, if we get any more players out we will need to start a Cs
Re: Short Stacked
Yeah finding it hard this year....we could do with a few more as well (hawks)......very hard this year sat div 2 so many teams within 5 or so km of each other (6 to be exact!!!) and most these clubs every one knows each other at the other clubs so where all fighting over friends etc and who goes where....

Weren't you guys fielding 4 teams a few years back?Hit the Post wrote:I thought the same but it's been quite the opposite, with most trainings only having 16 or so guys showing up. I know the forum is hardly the gospel but Cobras & Cougars have advertised for players, and now Hawks and Vipers have also admitted they're struggling - all clubs from the Western suburbs. And as N8 mentioned, all from the same division.

I think OISC have 5 or 6 teams however could be refering to us - Rostrevor Old Collegians? North East?Black_Panther wrote:Who else then is an eastern suburbs club?MegaBonus wrote:^^^^^^^^^^^^^

We just formed a 6th team.
I think old collegians (not just CSL) have an advantage over other clubs. School is a good feeder system for new players. Every year we get about 20 odd new players come out directly from school, wanting to play with their mates.

Re: Short Stacked
On this topic how many players do you all think are needed before a C team is needed. We are running at around 35 but as the season gets going and injuries/work/cant be bothered come in I don't think we would have enough for a C team
Re: Short Stacked
My experience is that you need about 50 players to run a C team comfortably for a full season.nobby gnome wrote:On this topic how many players do you all think are needed before a C team is needed. You need 13-14 players per team each weekend. That's 39-42 already, without unavailability.nobby gnome wrote:On this topic how many players do you all think are needed before a C team is needed. Re: Short Stacked
hit the post - there are way to many clubs these days, especially in the area you are in Fulham , White City , Western Strikers , Adelaide Victory, Olympic to name a few in the vicinity . All of you will be in the FFSA next year too! Furthermore - just imagine how many players your club would actually have if the Pontians didn't move north...
