Sturt Sevens - One Spot Left. $2,500 Prize Money

Post by thunderweekly »

Hi Everyone,

We have one spot left for a team in this Sunday's first ever Sturt Sevens. It's a 7-a-side round robin competition that will be held at West Barratt Reserve, on the corner of West Beach and Military Road. It's $300 entry for a team of up to 12 and we're putting up $2,500 prize money. The day will include a BBQ and Bar, Live Music, Promotional Material, Raffles, Giveaways (from our sponsors - PhysioAction SA, Goodlife Health Clubs, Specialty Foods, The Good Guys etc.). There will even be a drone taking video footage of the day.

If anyone is interested please contact sturtsevens@gmail.com asap for more information.

Thanks :)

Everyone was made aware of the circumstances surrounding the prize money guys. It was always subject to the number of teams. I wouldn't think any person would expect a club to run an event at a loss.

Robbo - may I ask what your issue is? Is it with the club or the event, or something else? We're only trying to put on an day that can be enjoyed by everyone while providing an opportunity for clubs to take home some prize money. Its something different, and it's a social event.

Cheers :)

Look, best wishes to Sturt, but blind Freddie could see you'd never get enough teams for a one day event at that price. (Possibly one game for say $20 per person?)

Its $25 a player for a minimum number of games? You're talking something in the region of $7 a game... That's less than it costs to play one game of indoor? And that's without the entertainment. I don't think it's unreasonable...

$2,500 isn't bad for a one day 7-a-side competition

Looks like our game(s) might not be on as scheduled on Sunday due to the hot weather policy, so if teams aren't allowed to play you might get a last minute team
Are you Bodo in disguise?

Is this still going ahead?

Hot weather policy not taking effect?
