Pre-season is not always a great measure....in 2013 Knights lost 6-3 to the Downs and 12-1 to Parafield in pre-season games...
We ended up getting promotion from Division 2 that year, just missed out on a Division 2 title by 1 point.....who'd have thunk that would have happened ?

Yes I agree 12 teams is a great idea.

I dont think the preseason is getting too big the preseason cup is essentially only 4 games for the majority of clubs. Most would have 4 games as a minimum for preseason & if clubs choose to play more games its up to them.

Perhaps the preseason competitions (Playford, Southern, Inner North & Central & others) are becoming more popular as they are well run & create good club relations which really is a credit to those clubs involved in running & participating in them.

Yes I agree 12 teams is a great idea.

Lefty, the templin cup is great, but I've said previously I believe it needs to be closer to the seasons start. With 4 odd weeks from finishing the cup to the 1st league game teams will always need to play another 2-3 games. That's an average of 7 games before the 1st league fixture.

East Boy...when the preseason cup first started the last round was 3 weeks before Round 1 leaving room for a couple of more friendlies & Cichanowski Shield but with Easter & late start to the league it can change things plus this year we have to fit in the Templin Cup final series.
