I love the fact that most tipped against Iggies in the B's game
Downs well and truly smacked 6-1 plus a missed penalty

Great game! Well deserved win to The Downs. Thought they had a touch more class in midfield and looked a lot more dangerous going forward. Farm midfield sat deep and relied on the counter creating some good half chances but never really tested the keeper in the second half. Up front, Nathan was outstanding, brilliantly taken first goal then the winner in injury time. Trimmers made a huge difference when coming on for the last half hour. Two fantastic teams both deserving being there. Unlucky again Simmo!! But i'm sure he would be first to admit that Downs were dserving winners.

Congratulations to the Downs first team in a fine season. Special mention to Farm who played them off the park in the league meetings and were, in defeat, a credit to their club with the way they conducted themselves - exactly the benchmark of what the sport should be about. Stayed til the end and clapped and congratulated - outstanding credit to the club. All the best for the summer and next season.

Repeating myself here but well done to Doggy and Westies on a fine season in the O35's, thoroughly deserved league and cup double, well done.
Doggy, on your retirement, the league will be worse off for it and I'm sure your club will too. Hopefully we still see you round the traps in future, but until then, it's been a pleasure mate.

I hardly recognise any of the Iggies Res team yesterday from the side that knocked Knights Reserves out of the Cup in the 1st. Round.
Partly because I think they had quite a few C-Team players against Knights.....
I think Carbone and Gauro were all class last week in the Semi Finals and yesterday in the Final...would be handy at any Premier (Sat or Sun) team.
Think that is the second time Iggies have beaten the Downs Reserves in the final...the other was 2002 down at Grange...Ryan Dew and Shaun George playing in both Iggies successful sides..

Well done to all teams involved on the day and a big well done to motts and the crew on winning the cup to go with the league title. Also a big thanks to trimmers and everything he has brought to the club, one of the games true champions. Way to finish off a cracking playing career with a league and cup double. All the best for your next adventure in the feds big league. Way to go you big spurs biff.....

that first round was on mothers day which had OISC really struggling for numbers, quite a few a-graders were N/A which meant that both teams were under strength for round 1

As said before it doesnt matter who was in the iggies squad, any team on the day in a cup final would play thier best squad. Thats the luck of it and I am sure if we had the first team out of the cup and lets say Trimmers and Nathan available we would play them... Said on the day thats how it is and the better team won on the day. Not sure who he was but Iggies number 7 cut us a new one in the first half....

He won the medal and rightly so legga although they had a few that could have won it, thought #2 was outstanding as well as the lad who played in the middle of the park. They never let us play and hit us early - credit to them - it will make for an interesting afternoon on the cans with one of their former players and my lad this Saturday arvo!

I think it's Chris Gauro - great player when he remembers that he has 10 team mates.

Who you out with on saturday?
