Southern Knights welcomed Salisbury Inter to O'Sullivan Beach hoping to atone for Knights 5-0 loss in Round 9 back in June.
The visitors however, found themselves ahead within 5 minutes when Andrew Butler sent in a free kick for Micheal Marchioro to head home.
A short while later Ross McNab appeared to be fouled and referee Leon Hannessen awarded a penalty to Knights.
Penalty taker Jamie Faulkner followed up after his spot kick was well saved by Nick Sincock to hammer home the equaliser for Knights.
Key Inter player Michael Marchioro unfortunately went over on his ankle and had to be replaced but Jarred Foster marshalled the Inter defense well and Nick Sincock made some telling saves.
Shortly before half time, Ryan Curran rose at the back post to head home his maiden goal and give Knights the lead.
Knights seemed to have control of the game throughout the second half and created a string of chances, but Inter always looked capable of levelling the game.
The game ended 2-1 to Knights and coach Jim McGuinness would have been pleasde with one of his charges best performances for the year.
It's been a tough year for Knights in 2014 (A lot of kilometres driven out North), the lads have been taught a lot of hard football lessons and hopefully will be better and stronger for it.
Senior Coach Jim McGuinness has been a very patient and wise man at the helm, only his second season of Senior mens football but has delivered in both seasons.
Hopefully he, and some of the new blood at Knights will continue on in 2015 and see if we can push the 'bigger' teams a little more.
With a few of the older brigade hanging up their boots there's plenty of room for more new faces in the New year.
Thanks to all the visiting players and spectators that have come in after the game to create a bit of atmosphere off the park...all the best for 2015.
