Different ball, we have quite a few available on match days to keep the action going. 8)

He only got the goal because he was under the bar at the time. Had he been a yard further back that would have gone flying over the bar too.

And also a thanks to the Knights, a great spread they put on for us afterwards (as I've heard they've been doing for everyone, hats off to them!) to ensure everyone was well stocked for the drive home. Hopefully we get a chance to give you a decent feed next season!

We were hoping the ball going that high would bring down rain as it would be warmer than your showers

At least it's a relatively 'level' paddock

Was brilliant at the start of the year.....we've (Knights) trained on it once this year and only played 16 games in total over 5 months there this year...

The weather report did say "expect cold showers."
Apologies for that....we have to blame the complex (or the Council for that) so no blame here....Oh ! hang on

Hey if it snows someday you could use your pitch as a 'black run', when the referee tosses the coin, does your captain say 'We'll shoot uphill in the first half"?

Amusing irony that Farm are having at crack at Knights for their pitch. For the record they are both awful but they are awful for both teams that play on them.

My memories of the surface of the Downs pitch(es), particularly goalmouths, from my 25 years playing on them, also makes your comment somewhat ironic too Old Redback
Memories of the 'Downs bounce' and the skin ripped off knees, thighs elbows and forearms come flashing back.

Like I said, the playing surface at O'Sullivan Beach at the start of the season was the best it has ever been....just gets over used.

There's no need to try and defend it Swanny - it is awful and I remember a long time ago having to play on it and it was terrible then. My point was that it doesn't matter what pitch or who's pitch you play on it is the same for both teams that play on it.

Hey yous two; some of the best games of my life where on dodgy pitches! Old downs ,Eastern Park[football], NAB[black mud],A. Villa[park lands] etc etc etc.Would be great to play on carpet every week .
It definately helped to even up the games like a rainy day. You'd get slide tackles, balls stopping short, mud every where etc etc. Definately some great and funny moments on dodgy pitches.
