Mt Compass 2 - 1 Bosa

Another tight game which The Cows won with a fortunte effort from the left, but over the 90 mins the lads deserved the win.

Credit to BOSA who threw 5 up-front for the last 5 mins and never let up all day. I think they will still have a big influence on the outcome of the division.

Salisbury Villa v Stirling
A's 3-2
B's 1-2
RedBlue Eagles v Stirling
Div 6: 1-1

Always a tasty encounter down at Villa, especially when the result matters.
Hard fought games in both grades.
A's: Villa scored the winner from the penalty spot with 5 minutes to go, when down to 10 men.
Congrats Villa, but we were disappointed and felt we deserved to get at least a draw.

When I arrived the C's were underway and was advised that Pumas were leading 1-0 at the time. If not the above score is wrong. Pumas went 2-0 up two minutes into the second half only to see Brahma Lodge pull one back from the kick off. They brought it back to 2-2 with a show into the roof of the net that rebounded out. A couple of the defenders claimed it came of the bar (not sure if they were being serious or just taking the piss) but it definitely hit the net. With twenty minutes to go they took the lead for the first time before sealing the win with a cracking goal two minutes from time.

The B's was much more entertaining than the score suggests. I thought I'd just about heard everything from a club linesman but today one claimed he couldn't adjudicate on a throw-in just metres from him because it happened in the other half of the pitch and was for the linesman to call. He came on as a player in the second half and appeared to break his wrist late in the game. Eighty minutes had already been played and both teams agreed to finish the game at that moment with the 4-0 scoreline.

In the A's the Puma should have had a penalty in the sixth minute for a handball which I think everybody saw except the referee. By the end of the game he had missed quite a lot, most of it in the second half. All the goals however came in the first half with the Hawks first taking the lead before conceding twice to go in 2-1 down at the break. The second half was full of action including two red cards to the Hawks. Had the Pumas put awy their chances they probably would have wrapped this up before either of the red cards So many missed chances could have been costly. Even after Hawks had been reduced to nine men could have got an equaliser.

I really don't get this abandoning games due to injuries, unless of course it's a suspected back or neck injury and the victim shouldn't be moved. I don't think a broken wrist is any worse than a ACL, and being involved in past games where both have happened (myself being the victim in one case) I've never seen a case where a game is abandoned because of it.

Obviously you don't like to hear about anyone getting injured, but a lot can happen in 10-15 minutes of play, and if I was the Hawks I'd be pi-ssed if the game was abandoned at 4-0 down. Regardless of probability, surely most players are competitive enough to believe anything is possible with enough heart.

Sounds like Hawks threw in the towel, and I'd be very disappointed in my side if they ever agreed to this regardless of the scoreline. Definitely hold no fear in playing Hawks next time around. If we get an early goal after 5 minutes, I'll go down with a sore throat and I'll ask if they are happy to abandon the game as it stands.

I agree with you. The player involved was already off the pitch too. I don't belong to either club so this decision had nothing to do with me.

Looks like A.Villa hit that next gear I spoke of a few weeks back.

Going to be too hard to catch now I'd imagine (but still hope :D ), but hopefully we can keep our form up and make it a double Villa promotion.

Another interesting fact.

Apparently Jay Z and Solange were fighting because Jay Z cheated on Beyonce.
