It was actually 5 times we hit the woodworkCaretaker Coach wrote:swannsong wrote:Anyone know (and can publish on here) the Sturt Marion v Para Hills West Reserve game score ?
Hi Swannsong - Sturt Marion won 3-2
SM leading 1-0
PHW " 2-1
got to 2-2, SM snatched a winner last seconds of the game.
PHW hit woodwork 3 times.
Talking to one of the SM boys they have a few A players to chose from as they were either injured or u/a for the first round cup.
Q/F will be interesting
Cheers

Haha I wonder why?? You would be happy you guys lost in the cup and not in the league though im guessing??swannsong wrote:For some reason I've suddenly lost a bit of interest in the Cup.coppa fiel wrote:Does anyone know when the next draw is made and announced?
Played Florina 3 times this year, lost 2 won 1...but it always feels nice to get into the Quarter Finals...no doubt some will be happier with a weekend offcoppa fiel wrote:Haha I wonder why?? Good idea, Saturday teams might have a chance of winning a Cup ( lol )The real thing wrote:While I really enjoy the FA cup, I still think it's time for the SAASL to move away from that format & have a League Cup for each Division. Div 1 Sat & Sun (20 teams) & so on.
Considering that 4 out of the 8 teams left in the reserves cup still have their A's left in the cup, I would say that blows a hole in your theory. I know we have gotten to the qtrs without playing any of the A's in our team. I think the format is fine as it is.The real thing wrote: Most teams who make it through to the last rounds of the "reserve cup" do so because they have "senior team" players who are not cup tied. True, but the Downs dug deep on the weekend fielding Andrew O'Malley and Charles Marwe in their As.safehands wrote:Considering that 4 out of the 8 teams left in the reserves cup still have their A's left in the cup, I would say that blows a hole in your theory. Gardens had the same only difference is the A's played young Michael Lewis who has been scoring regulary in the C team & almost scored when he came on.swannsong wrote:True, but the Downs dug deep on the weekend fielding Andrew O'Malley and Charles Marwe in their As.safehands wrote:Considering that 4 out of the 8 teams left in the reserves cup still have their A's left in the cup, I would say that blows a hole in your theory. I think it also helps Reserves teams in the Cup if they have a reasonable C-Team (or two) to back up any shortfalls in numbers.
Florina did likewise against Southern Knights....their As had a few C-Teamers....we had a few outs and not much back up, but still made the loss harder to accept. They just wanted it more on the day.lefty wrote: Gardens had the same only difference is the A's played young Michael Lewis who has been scoring regulary in the C team & almost scored when he came on.
