Gutted I missed today's game because of work but immensely proud of the boys wrapping up the B's title. Sierra forfeiting at the wrong time gave us the opportunity and glad to say they boys didn't disappoint. To have made it through the season barring a possible rearranged game against centrals undefeated is a great a achievement and a huge testemant to the strength in depth we have. Being already assured of promotion in the As and looking good to take that out too it has been a great year and one that took a lot of hard work and tough times theist few years. Teams that are struggling this year can rest assured that their experiences will put them in good stead and help the comeback stronger next year. For aldinga to push us all the way in their first year shows how well they've done and just what a new team can do. I'd love to see them and noarlunga up in div 3 next year for some more cracking contests. Just a bit of a pity we're gonna miss the away trip to polonia as they've secured back to back promotions (barring protests). All the best to everyone for the last round and let's hope for no forfeits so everyone can get a game

Final Round

Farmers v Croatia - Sorry Farmers but you will be on the receiving end of a good old fashioned muscat whooping I reckon. Maybe the demands of Div 4 were a little too high from a club coming from the C grade comp. Croatia playing some decent football of late and are probably only a couple of players away from promotion. We as a club look forward to our Friday night catch up game next week. It was a really generous offer to provide food and drinks afterwards and one in which we hope to return the favour one day. Cheers boys. Croatia 8-0

Athelstone v Noarlunga - If Athelstone win this one then our result against Unley wont matter and we will be promoted along with the champs. That being said its going to be difficult to get the points against the lads from Noarlunga. They will come out strong and try and get on top early. Much like Croatia, Athelstone are probably only a couple of players away from pushing for promotion. Good bunch of lads up there. Good luck next year. Noarlunga 4-2

Unley v Aldinga - Don't worry, we will be treating this game just like any other. we will be focused on getting the 3 points and nothing else. Then and only then will we sit back and start thinking of life in Div 3. Unley have been on the improve over the last 4-5 weeks so we take nothing for granted. Hopefully we go to Croatia next Friday night knowing that the result doesn't matter. Aldinga 4-1

Sierra v Lakes - Sierra looked a shadow of the team that beat us earlier in the season but then again we have been pretty consistent all season. Lakes have earned the respect of a lot of teams this year, struggling for numbers yet still putting 2 teams out week in week out. Well done lads. hard to look past a Sierra win here but football is a funny old game so anything is possible. Good luck this week boys. Going for a draw here 2-2

Asia v Centrals - Couldn't care any less about this fixture. Hopefully we never have to play Asia again. Centrals are a decent young side who conduct themselves with a level of sportsmanship you rarely see these days. You are a credit to your club and your community. Well done guys. Centrals 5-1

Thanks for this season lads. We have certainly enjoyed playing against 80% of you. Hopefully next year the league sorts out the mess that is div 4. Way too many forfeits and teams just not giving a shiraz. Enjoy your break and we look forward to next year.

You mean apart from forfeiting through Ramadan, calling teams racist when losing, abusing players in their own language, walking off mid game and having saasl strip points off them for unregoed players then yes nice set of lads :)

Apparently at the Unley Vs Aldinga game, Aldinga had a 12th player who was also wearing black..... helped them to a 2-1 victory when it should have been 2-2. Calling a foul throw (from a thrower who had taken all the throw-ins from that side all game) from so far away after Unley had scored from it, when the linesman (on Aldinga's team) states it was fine. Not to mention red carding a player for retaliation after being kicked in the head with a boot, while the player who booted the Unley player in the head gets no card.

Aldinga boys put on a good performance, and congratulations to them on sealing 2nd position this season, mostly, it was a fair a decent game....

Div 4 will be an interesting looking division next year. You would assume no Asia, no Andrews Farm and maybe no Centrals. With two of the four dependable southern teams going up and even Athelstone struggling for numbers, it might be a completely revamped league.

Anyone know if South Coast won on Sunday. If they did they leapfrog Ghan and remain in div 3. Hopefully the whole league is restructured and Noarlunga come up to Div 3 with us. That would be 4 Southern teams in Div 3.

div 4 was supposed to be the last league that HAD to have as and bs. div 5 and lower only needed one team to participate and would need to expand whoever was promoted from div 5. that was how it was supposed to work. SO,WHAT THE shiraz WENT WRONG. :?:
