one plays the ball the other plays the player
CSL is much more gentlemanly , amateurs a little more body and soul, in saying that Div 1 would give the well paid Prem teams of Amateur a run for their money. Hasnt been a playoff for a while but last one i believe saw CSL win against SAASL select side. would be interesting now to see who would better now?

Re: Collegiate League
Teams like Rostrevor, Unley, Mercedes have always had traditionally strong teams (Rostrevor in particular who were the guys who sprung an upset in the Fed Cup years back).JBJBJB wrote:one plays the ball the other plays the player

Having said that though, general standard would be Div 2 (Sunday) average (for the A teams only).
When you start to head down to the lower Divs of Collegiate, you better have good health insurance and ambulance cover

Don't ever play sunday morning football in England if you think the collegiate league has agricultural tackling.
Re: Collegiate League
So ROSCS v BOSA on the weekend ended 4-1 to Rostrevor. Is that a true indication, Collegiate v winners of Div 1 Saturday last year?

Re: Collegiate League
Not sure you can judge a league 'standard' from one team and game, let alone a pre-season hit out.

Agree, and on a long weekend. Years ago when Inter were dominating the saasl, they beat Azzurri ( Blue Eagles, with most of their first team 3-2 ), in a pre season friendly.swannsong wrote:Not sure you can judge a league 'standard' from one team and game, let alone a pre-season hit out.

Re: Collegiate League
I doubt whether any of the A team superstars have even rocked up for pre-season training yethaywood djablowme wrote:If thats what you want to take from a preseason game...Chips wrote:So ROSCS v BOSA on the weekend ended 4-1 to Rostrevor. Re: Collegiate League
A division in Collegiate league is good, it has improved over the years, a lot of State players come to play Saturday afternoon football when they have too much of training hard, you can have a sausage and a beer, before, during and after the game.........yes there is the odd broken leg but most of the players are either doctors or lawyers, so you are in good hands
Re: Collegiate League
will be interesting to see the next result vs ROCSC
Later in preseason, with the season just around the corner....

Re: Collegiate League
Rostrevor are chokers, wow they win pre season games. They do this every year - big favourites in the collegiate league, then they come 4th or 5th. And that's the truth.
