Div 1 Ressies

Post by Ginger Tonkin »

With Farm beating West Beach 5-0 and Gardens winning 6-0 against Vista the top of the table looks very tight. If both Farm & Gardens win it will come down to goal difference for the league.

It certainly will be a close finish to the season with the Farm Ressies away to Westies & Gardens Ressies away to Pontians needing to add plus 7 goals on goal difference to win the League.

Pontians have conceded an average of 5 goals a game & let in 4 goals past on Sunday.

COME ON UUUUU GARDENS !!!

League is extremely tight, early pace setters in Inter & Beach, have dropped off of late due to having less depth and smaller squads.

4 teams within 2 points of each other, where mathematically either of 4 teams could win it, however it is extremely unlikely that Pontian would beat Inter meaning, goal difference could be the deciding factor.

Inter cant win the League from here...
There is a good chance with a favorable draw that these Teams will play off in the Reserve Cup Final, & either would be a absolute crackers!!!

If Farm win 2-0 & Gardens win 10-2, this weekend then Farm & Gardens will be identical on the league table?

Who wins or is it shared?

Won't come into it apparently Pontians are playing without a keeper in the ressies

Congratulations to Parafield Gardens from the Ingle Farm ressies on winning what was a very competitive and close title race. We had 2 very competitive games with your side this year and in such a tight race your comeback from 2-0 down late on in round 2 to snatch a point proved to be costly from our point of view, priceless from your point of view. Trust you guys celebrate your hard fought title win all week. :P

The standard of football for a ressies league was higher than many other years with 5 highly competive teams and even the mid table teams proving difficult to beat.

Now the focus will be on the semi-finals this week. We have a tough one against a side that has not been beaten all year.
