Flinders University ( 2 ) Elizabeth Downs ( 8 )
Elizabeth Downs were quick off the mark with 5 goals in the opening 20 minutes with Daniel McKenna starting the rout with a superb 30 metre strike.
Downs only scored 6 goals themselves...Flinders scored 2 of the best own goals I have seen for a long time...a curling 30 metre screamer and a reverse swinging dipping lob...both giving Flinders keeper no chance
....game was played in good spirits with no malice...conditions in the centre of the field were very difficult for both teams at times...
apart from the contentious dismissal of Day in the first half I thought John Aldridge had a good game officiating the encounter.
