INGLE FARM v ELIZ DOWNS......... Going by Motts comments to a farm club person yesterday the Downs are massive favourites and the farm will need every bit of luck possible to get anything out of this game. A massive game to start the season off and everyone is looking forward to the real stuff starting.
MOD VISTAv FULHAM......... Draw
PONTIAN v ELIZ VALE........ Westell to shut down Azza but have the eagles got anyone to shut down Burbridge? Draw
WEST BEACH v PARAFIELD......... Parafield by a couple
PH WEST v SALS INTER.......... Inter comfortably

INGLE FARM v ELIZ DOWNS......... Big game to start the season but Downs should be too strong 1-3

MOD VISTA v FULHAM......... Should be a hard fought game but I expect Vista to edge it at home 1-0

Pontian v ELIZ VALE........ A good test for us first up against a side that will run and run all day. I'm confident though that we can get up but we need to bring our A game.

WEST BEACH v PARAFIELD......... Apparently Beach may be the surprise packet this year and what better way to start than against Gardens? I think Gardens should prevail here with all their class 0-2

PH WEST v SALS INTER......... Replay of the mayors cup final where the newly promoted boys take on one of the championship fancies. Inter under Cooky will be strong this year and I expect them to do this one pretty easily 0-3

INGLE FARM vs DOWNS....Farm will be tough at home and have quality on the park, however Downs have been very good preseason and seem to be the benchmark again this season. Downs in a close one

VISTA vs FULHAM.... Tight game again but I think it may be decided on what type of Fulham side turns up on Sunday

PONTIAN vs VALE.... Draw here, both sides evenly matched

WEST BEACH vs GARDENS.... Match of the round I suggest, Beach have looked sharp in preseason and look like they can make a few upsets this year and challenge for the top four. If Duane can get his signings firing as a unit Gardens are going to be very formidable this season. Gardens 2:1

WESTIES vs INTER...... Tough task for Robbie and his men as Inter look pretty good this year, however if Westies can stick to their task at home they may cause an upset. Inter a little to polished for Westies though. Inter 2:0

Farm 1 v 3 Downs : Downs impressive against AV last week; Farmers to put up a fight, but that won't be enough.
Pontian 2 v 3 Vale : no home advantage for Eagles just yet at their new nest.
West Beach 0 v 2 Parafield : Gardens likely to be too strong.
PHW 0 v 1 Salis Inter : generally tight games at Northbri.
Mod Vista 1 v 1 Fulham : Can't see there being much beteen these two.

Any reports from the Downs v Farm game?

Would have to be match of the round going on previous encounters...

Hard fought game as one would expect, pretty scrappy to be honest. Neither side gave an inch! Ref forgot his cards in the first half which didn't help him control the game. Downs with a goal to a sharp chance at the end of a corner I think.

Very scrappy game with some solid (not illegal) tackles flying in all over the place, referee certainly struggled to get a hold of the game luckily for him the players on the park kept it as professional as possible. Downs looked dangerous through trimmers and Farm just lacked that final ball in the attacking third.

The goal came from a corner flicked on and put away by an un marked player at the back post, took it really well. Farm had the chance from the kick off to pull it back to 1-1 but Ben pulled off a 1v1 save (as he does) from an angle to keep the lead. Game never really got out hand for either side could have been 3 different results on the day.
