Modbury Jets v PHE - Rebecca Lawrence Shield - Sat 23/3

Post by Statto11 »

This will be the fifth year that both the Modbury Jets & Para Hills East compete in our pre-season friendly the Rebecca Lawrence Shield.

For those who didnt know Rebecca, she sadly passed away after suffering a heart attack in 2008. To commemorate her memory both Modbury Jets & Para Hills East compete in this annual event held in her honor. Rebecca holds a special place in the hearts of many people involved with both clubs.

In addition to the football we use this event to raise money for the Heart Foundation. All profits on the day are donated directly to this very worthy cause.

If you are free this Saturday come out and watch some of the football on display and help us raise some money for the Heart Foundation.

Kick off times are as follows:
10am C team
12pm Over 35's
1.20pm Reserves
3.20pm First Team
Cnr. Ladywood Rd & Milne Rd, Modbury North

A very well run and organised day will be another hit again this year I imagine. Will certainly head down to enjoy the day the BBQ and a few cold beers.

Well done to PHE AND MJ in advance on a wonderful event.

It's going to be a fantastic day, as always, to remember a great lady.
Ill unfotunately be on the sidelines but keen to have a few beers anyways.

Is Noah (alberto's) going to be there?

Not 100% sure but I believe he will be there, I certainly hope so.

Noah is unavailable but we have another caterer doing a similar menu so the BBQ chicken is back on.
Dixie Dean was hailed by another Mersey legend, Liverpool’s Bill Shankly, as “belonging in the company of the supremely great, like Beethoven, Rembrandt and Shakespeare.”

60 goals, never to be equalled.

A's: Jets 1-East 5 (ten minutes to play)
B's: Jets 2-East 1 (some old, bald, fat guy scored the late winner :P )

Can't argue with that desription, you missed good looking though. As one of your lot said "oh no, anyone but him".

A's ended with that scoreline.

Another great day and some good charity money raised as well.
