He doesn't even seem to know how many teams his own club has? No wonder they turn up to cancelled games if that's the communication levels.

Haha thats a classic last I heard they were getting free hot chips and gravy for playing and if you look at the result against Southern Knights it shows -

Maybe paying some of them to stay away on match day

Surely it's a typo. Cos it just don't make any sense 3 teams go up 1st, 2nd and 5th. What The!
Blue Nile finished 3rd so wheres the problem?
Blue Nile's A side finished the 2012 league in fifth place, their B side finished in 3rd. Promotion and relagation have always been based on the A team 'so where's the problem???' sh#t I wonder!!! unless they have totally changed the rules!
Last years tables are still up on the Ameteur league site so have another look!

Conclusion: the Amateur League stuffed up. Obviously they made the mistake on looking at The B side results, once they realise that mistake you'll see that Noarlunga will actually be in Div 3 and Blue Niles in Div 4

pernunz wrote:It appears at this point that Division 4 may be a division without a reserve league. A couple of the teams who had both a firsts and reserves side (I'm looking at Northern Pitbulls) have a second team in Division 7.

If you look at the list of clubs compared to last year:
Angkor: Promoted
USC Lions: Promoted
Flinders: Division 3 with reserves in Division 7 - Flinders have 5 teams, did last year - Div 3A/B, 4A/B & Div 5
One Tree Hill: Division 4
Torrens Valley: Division 4
Old Ignatians': Division 4 (x2?) - Listed twice is an obvious error
Greenock Town: Not in the list - Confirmed folded
Northern Pitbulls: Division 4 with reserves in Division 7 - They have a C team.
Mount Compass: Division 5 - Confirmed they have lost 1 team - so Div 4 is an error
East Adelaide: Division 4
Adelaide University: Division 4
Parafield Gardens: No Saturday Team

That's only 6 teams remaining across seasons, with new entrants of Adelaide Cobras, Strathalbyn, and Simba Heroes.
Division 4 is more likely to have only 9 teams.

Div 6 in 2011 wasn't the same as Div 6 in 2012.
In principle I agree and I am informed that both MDSC coaches expected to be in Div 4 for 2013 - seems to me the whole system is bottle of shiraz. I am also informed that MDSC were promoted from div6 in 2011 and won div5 in 2012 so should have some form. It may be a league too high, but who knows? MDSC, as all of the teams are just there to play football whatever league - its pretty immaterial - they are hardly going to challenge for the Premier title any time soon!!!!
In 2011, Division 5 was the Div 1 C teams, and Division 6 was the "one team" clubs.
In 2012, these swapped around.

There was no promotion from Div 6 to Div 5... it was a divisional name change.

But they should start in Div 4, for sure.

Looks like Gleesons whinging has paid off and the league has changed their mind again.. Only to cause even more confussion and to continue to defy thier own rules.

They now have Flinders with two teams in Div 3, which can not happen!

Saturday Division 2
Stirling
Salisbury Villa
Modbury Jets
Vipers
Red/Blue Eagles
Cougars
Monarchs
Adelaide Pumas
Southern Breakers
Gleeson

Saturday Division 3
Budapest
Adelaide Uni (2)
Hazara
Murray Bridge United
Angkor Hornbill
USC Lion
Flinders 2

McLaren Districts

Do league rules state actually state that though?

It has happened before. Iggies have twice had teams in the same division, as have flinders.

Fail to see how gleeson have been "whingeing", they had a legitimate complaint that the league has dealt with.

2. ELIGIBILITY
(b) Clubs competing in those divisions which are defined as requiring the fielding of a
reserves team shall field a reserves team in that competition.
(c) Except as provided at 2(b) above, no club shall have more than one team in the same
division of a league.

Is the rule as stated by the SAASL.

Not needed in this case anyway as we have spoken to the leauge and asked them not to have two sides in the same division, They have agreed and as as such we will return to having Sides in Div 3 and Div 4 as it should have been. As well as One side in Div 5 and One Side in Div 7

This will probably meen another side from Div 4 will have to be promoted to fill out spot, who this is I have no idea. perhaps One Tree Hill?

I don't blame Gleeson in any of this, for one thing the SAASL should know better than to post on it's web site information that has not been verified with the clubs, had they spoken to the presidents of the clubs involved this could have all been sorted behind closed doors and no need for it to all end up a public spectacle.

I think in both those cases, it was a 2nd reserves team in the same division. And both were in the lowest possible division for that to happen.

That would be correct, as I think Flinders entered 2 Reserves sides in that division as well to make up the numbers, otherwise wouldve only been like 5 B teams in div 4.

Well said, OTHSC would be the the team to be promoted. You do feel for Gleeson, would have an impact when trying to attract new players, ( which division you are in ).
Good luck to you guys ( Flinders) I am sure it wont be long before you guys win promotion.

With Sat Div 7 having 12 teams, surely that's just negated most of the "triple Header games".

Can't see how they can line them up. As a minimum I hope they try to ensure that all 3 teams are at home at the same time even if they have to play different sides.

They had the opportunity last season to be a part of a "10" team Div 2 League but declined....No second chance for an easy promotion should be given after that in my opinion.

Sanity has prevailed....

Another amendment today with Flinders (2) dropping to Div 4 and One Tree Hill (I think) into Div 3.

We already had a pretty packed preseason without scheduling a party for last years promotion.

Spiros has gone to cobras in a coaching/tech director sort of mode (I may be mistaken on exact title) but will be playing on Sunday's I have heard
But in saying this they will only have 1 team. Also does anyone have the fixtures for div4 Sunday so I could pass them on to the coach that stingrays have in the job at the moment?

I've seen Seafords fixtures for the season (div 4) but not all of the fixtures for the division. Stingrays are listed in the fixtures, were playing them at home 2nd game. It's on the 21st I think. Hope this helps!

My thoughts exactly. Not exactly fair on the reserves teams in div 4

I am not at stingrays but, I do know that as of a week ago, they only had 1 team (if that)
Not fair to any team in div4 IMO but can someone post the fixtures at all?
Also does anyone know when team rego and bare minimum player rego done by?
