No Grant we applied for - more an audit of the clubs in the Salisbury area identified clubs with poorest facilities and they were to be fixed up first or something like that (JW might confirm this side of things.)

Federal Govt paid some of it thru a grant (I think $400,000 it was ?) then the Salisbury Council paid for the rest of it. Total cost for the two clubs (the building is divided in half) was in excess of 1.6 million total

HEY !! The dartboard issue is a very serious issue at our club :D

That was a genius move that took 6 beers each and a drill to complete :D

It really is a great idea tho can stick the bloody thing anywhere we want now - its great, and more importantly its solid too with a big heavy base already

Looks good Robbo. Just need the new furniture now.

At least you guys have the summer to fine tune everything and be ready for the start of next season. That cool room is going to be the best thing ever!!!

congrats to Jay, Simmo and all at the Farm, it looks great and I appreciate all the hard behind the scenes work that gets done dealing with councils. We are just starting ours now and we will be well happy if our finish product looks as good as yours. We will have a good look in 2016 when we are back in div1.

Cheers

Well done to all at the Farm who have invested their time in making this happen.

If only you could get a dollar figure for all the countless hours the volunteers put in, from vision, discussion, applying, sweet talking, yadda, yadda, yadda then they are the most expensive buildings ever built. It is such a pity that all the sporting clubs have to go through this 'ringer' that many give up or end up with half of what they wanted.

What is a good exercise is asking, what the exact financial cost was for the finished product and dividing it by the buildings total square meter's.

Not cheap by any standard but imagine if you had to build your 150m2 house for that price plus land?

Once again congratulations Farm on seeing it come to life, can't wait to visit next season and enjoy it with you.

Oh, and by the way, the projector and screen looked more at home in the Para Hills Knights clubroom!!!!
