From: Noarlunga United

Best team played against: Polonia
Best ressies team played against: Elizabeth Vale in the cup thought we would be pumped but put up a good fight :) only 3-1 down
Your clubs best player: Smitty
Yours clubs most improved player: Billy the Kid
Best player played against: One of the guys from Polonia
Did you club finish where you thought it would: Yeah
Best away bar: Seaford
Best away food: Polonia
Best away supporters: Seaford
What your club needs next year: Fitness and depth
Who will win the SAASL Player of the Year: No idea
Best pitch: Noarlunga
Best goal: Smitty with an overhead volley scissor kick against Maiwand
What should the SAASL do next year: Restructure the Div properly when teams are booted. We played 12 games out of 21 and had no more than 3 games in a row (only twice usually 2 games in a row) before a bye which is ridiculous. They need to be tougher on problem teams kick them team and the players.

Introduce a u/18 SAASL comp so clubs can keep hold of junior players & help them introduce to Senior mens comp - so junior players dont go running to FFSA & clubs can establish a pathway from Junior to Seniour within their framework
Think this is a cracking idea and possibly even an u21 depending on demand. Lots of young players with the necessary skills, but possibly not the physical attributes to participate in the amateur league. The kids that are physically matured can make the leap straight to the senior team, but this provides a stepping stone to those that need it.
I think there is a good argument for a Under 21's or 23's competition.

There's enough cheating now without creating an age restrictive competition.

It wouldn't be a premier competition like what we have now. It would provide some late bloomers a chance to play against people their own age rather than full grown men

When I heard that they were restructuring the FFSA (or SASF as it was known) for season 1992, I wrote this in one of the Downs Newsletters I was putting together.
The only age restriction we should have in the SAASL are if we have a full U/18s competition again and limit of under age players in the Over 35's.

Its not a replacement for the Ressies, more a place where the kids who would struggle against men could play in a comp who aren't good enough to play 23's in the Feds.

So they are not good enuff to play fed reserves or in the Amtr reserves which are mainly kids anyway and now you want to give them an under 23 comp to play in aswell???

Am I missing something here???
