Junior Kitch (aka Chief) plays in our Div 6 side.

He's the better Kitching.

An interesting weekend with Hahndorf dropping points again. They are out of action for the next two weeks whilst we make two trips to Mount Barker (weather permitting) so they could mathematically drop as low as fourth. As I said to Bacon on friday night I'm quite surprised with Salisbur Villa who after yesterday's loss drop to the bottom despite playing more games than anyone else. The top five can still mathematically win the title

Code: Select all

                  P W D L F A Pts
HAHNDORF 10 7 1 2 35 16 22 (34)
FC ADELAIDE 9 7 - 2 27 9 21 (36)
FLINDERS UNI 10 7 - 3 25 14 21 (33)
OLD IGNATIANS 10 6 1 3 23 15 19 (31)
ADELAIDE VIPERS 9 4 2 3 23 17 14 (29)
MOUNT BARKER C1 10 2 1 7 12 28 7
MOUNT BARKER C2 9 2 - 7 11 29 6
SALISBURY VILLA 11 1 1 9 13 40 4

*numbers in brackets are the maximum points those clubs could get.

Interesting to see Old Ignatians lose at Salisbury Villa yesterday. We had a good win in Mount Barker. We did score a seventh just before time but the referee disallowed it because the player who struck it yelled "leave it" without saying a name. Very different conditions to our first journey to Mount Barker on the opeing game of the season. That abandoned match will be replayed next weekend.

League leaders Hahndorf were out of action yesterday and droped to third as the two teams directly below them won. Now I await Skiladiko to telll me I have too much free time.

It has all closed up again, we had a good win over Vipers but not enough goal differnce I fear.

When is this catch up game happening?? You say next weekend But according to the schedule we are playing them at Mt Barker and the other team is playing Vipers??

So when is your game Bodo? :?:

Look at the dates. The next match day is august 15th. No matches have been schedule for the 8th and this is why we can play our catch up match this weekend. The rest of the division has this weekend off. We did our goal difference a real boost last weekend.

Barring a major turnaround, FC Adelaide should win this division.

Catch up result from the opening game of the season.

Mount Barker C2 0 Fc Adelaide 3

It's takes us three points clear at the top and mathematically rules Vipers out of contention. Mount Barker didn't have one shot on target in the match some poor finishing on our behalf kept the score down. I think one of our players is suffering from Suárez syndrome - thinks he can nonchulantly kick it towards goal with no effrot and he'll score.

Can't wait for next week's trip to Hahndorf.

A big weekend for this league! If FC Adelaide and Hahndorf can do us the favour of drawing and we can put a few past Mt Barker, it will all be up for grabs. I fear a win by FC Adelaide will put us out of the running even with our game against then still to come what with their better goal difference.

A lot to play for this weekend all round. May the football gods be with you or better yet with us!! :D

It's certainly shaping up to be one hell of a finish and all three clubs at the top will no doubt keen on results elsewhere - particularly the two travelling teams who have to return home before checking the results online.

Hahndorf 2 Fc Adelaide 3

Thanks to Handorf for advising us of a change of ground.... yes sarcasm! After arriving up at the ground listed on the SAASL and Handorf own website we were advised that the game to be played in Mylor. I'd never even been to Mylor before. After some research an a convey of vehicles following each other we got there. What a shocker of a pitch. Makes Cowandilla look good. One goal net had a gap between it and the crossbar and although all the goals were scored at that end fortunately there were contreversies as a result of the net. There were no flags for the linesmen the home team had half their team playing in stripes and half in white shirts, and ended up using the away teams matchballs. What a shambles!

To the game itself, the wind and sun made it a game of two halves. To be honest we were relatively poor in the first half and went into the break trailing 2-0. Both goals had a bit of fortune to them. The second may even go down as a Bodø own goal (oops). Come the second half and with the wind behind us we pulled it back to 2-2. At that point I would have settled for a 2-2 draw but in the final minutes we managed to get a winner and come home with a 2-3 win. I think that was an own goal too.

The win rules out Old Ignatians' chance of winning the title and effectively kills of Hahndorf. Now we await resulsts fron Flinders' trip to Mount Barker.
