Over 35's League

Post by Jay Walking »

A big thank you and Well Done must go to Swannsong for helping the league with this years Over 35's league and the new O35's Cup.

He pulled it into one division and came up with the idea of holding the cup competition.

Well Done Swanny, keep up the good work

Got the Wrong Swann there Jay. Mark Swann aka (htfc) was the instigator of the revamped 35s comp. His brother Nicky aka (Swannsong) is the keeper of all records and memorabillia and surely has a shed as big as an airport hanger.

Yeah can't take the credit for that one Jay, definitely Mark's idea that one.
But I have been thinking of an over 50's competition ????

Swannsong already has half a team... throw in his brothers and he'll be done.
And I agree with Jay on the size of his shed.

I remember as a kid I used to walk past the Swann front yard and there was 4 sets of goals (milk crates), 4 keepers and no attackers. From memory the scores were always 0.0.0.0. Hudderfield draw again.

The keeping skills are still there Marooned. you pulled off some pearler saves in the last game of the Downs C2's V Florina game. The 11 that went past you were all flukes. :) Would have been 20 if not for you. How's the back now?

Backs gone, thumb shot, knees stuffed, ego deflated. All in all a good mornings work. Sticking to refereeing next year.

Eventuallly I broke free from the goalkeepers curse. Admittedly i did return back a couple of times.

Its been funny but. I dont know how many times i've been congratulated on my photography work.

Strange that the last three chairmen of the club have played in goals for the club? Hullsy,Andy or even Benny could be in line for the job me thinks. Or maybe swannsong could move back home and take over the much sought after position. :D
