USC Lion v Para Hills West..................PHW might struggle if Lion have a full team at home, I predict a draw.
Para Hills East v Elizabeth Downs.........Downs to win comfortably.
Ingle Farm v Salisbury Florina..............Shluld be a good game, Florina have the Marron boys back. Farm by one goal.
Elizabeth Vale v Parafield Gardens........crucial game for the Vale, have struggled recently against Gardens.
Matt Peace's return to Vale's Ground should make it interesting also.
Vale to win in a tight one.

Re: Sunday Division 1 - Round 8, 8-06-08
Thought I'd look at how teams are travelling compared to last season.
Para Hills East were sitting in third place and Para Hills West hadn't won a point until they hammered Fulham 5-0 in round 8.
Downs had 16 points (7 more than this year) as do Farm and the Vale this year.
With a possible 33 more points available to each team anything can still happen !
Pontian Eagles v West Beach..............Beach will test Pontians.
USC Lion v Para Hills West................West should continue on their undefeated run.
Para Hills East v Elizabeth Downs.........on paper a goal difference booster for the Downs, but beware !
Ingle Farm v Salisbury Florina.............not sure of this one but should be a few goals for either team

sorry swansong, but by round 7, florina was undefeated until we went to farm in round 8 and lost our first game. what a coincidence that it's the same game this year. we were actually sitting second! yes we did end up with 23 points though.
Big boutso in golo!

Pontian Eagles v West Beach - Hard to pick winner
USC Lion v Para Hills West - Back on the good pitch, players returning, record numbers at training
Para Hills East v Elizabeth Downs - Cricket score
Ingle Farm v Salisbury Florina - Farm should be too strong
Elizabeth Vale v Parafield Gardens - Vale after impressive win last week.

Re: Sunday Div 1 - Round 8, June 8, 2008
Pontian Eagles v West Beach - Karapetis vs Manca show. I think you'll find that the Pontians have picked up another handy
young midfielder too help spatharas and billy out. Pontians to win 2-0 at home
USC Lion v Para Hills West - Lion at full strength can mix it with the top teams especially at home, but unfortunately there
not and are still a couple of weeks away until this happens. Westies to win 3-2
Para Hills East v Elizabeth Downs - Easts have shown they can push the ball around quite quickly and score goals but I'm
afraid facing the Downs after that thrashing last week, they could be staring down the
barrel of a big defeat. 0-0 at half time, Downs 3-0 full time
Ingle Farm v Salisbury Florina - This game poses as a potential game of the week as Florina have some of their stars
returning from the federation. Farm after a shakey loss last week will be looking to avenge their
loss and gain maximum points over mid table florina. I'm predicting a 2-2 draw
Elizabeth Vale v Parafield Gardens - Vale's title aspiration seem to be gathering steam as we draw closer to the midway
point of the season. With Nicholls and co in fine scoring form it's gonna be hard to tip
against them. Vale to do it easy 3-1

USC Lion 0-1 Para Hills West
Farm drew with Florina
Vale 2-1 winners over gardens.
East 2-1 over Downs.
West Beach lost 3-0 to Pontians.
Big result for the East lads. Threw a few peoples tips around with that result.

That they did. It was 0-0 at half time and overall the game was closer than the scoreline suggests, but West Beach failed to take the chances that came their way. Pontian deserved the win though.medallion wrote:How does that work, West beach lost 3-0

USC Lion 0 - Westies 1. Hard fought win today for the westies in the drizzle at henley. Far less intense this week. ie no rugby tackles or sideline sledging. Cracking goal by one of the "Magical 6" to settle the result in the second half. Couple of interesting results this weekend but one thought comes to mind, Is Florina now the second worst team in the league?????

rf draw against para west and didn't take oppurtunities, same with west beach.
lucky we didn't lose to pontians and neally stole it, and should of won it today as well..could of been eight points better off
but thats football and if you said at the start of the season we would draw at farm i'd take the point..
been speaking to goz all week bit of a loss but he has only just come back to play last half of season and wants to play
first team and a few new inclusions he thought he might not be getting regular games..still a florina boy like you..
part of that great 2005 season..

Id say we played the better football in the first half and were unlucky not to go ahead. You guys had the better of the second half and scored a bizzare goal. It looked like a miss kick that floated into the corner, never the less you were pressing hard for the goal and probably deserved one. But we had chances to equalise and were disallowed a goal for an offside that was questionable.
Westies are a disciplined side, well organised and play to their strengths. Far from the worst side weve played against this year. I dont think they have the firepower to win the League, but are definately a top 5 side.
