Adding a team into the league after 6 rounds ?

Post by Tick »

I've just received notification of fixture changes to Div 9
Starting in next weeks round 7, Athelstone have been included instead of a BYE ( which 6 teams out of 9 have already had )
None of these team ( who have had the BYE) received any points or any goals
Can anyone explain how the maths works in the league table ?

Do the teams that have already had the BYE get 3 points & a 2-0 result ( like a forfeit ), while the 3 teams who are yet to have a BYE, play Athelstone & the result is the result
Do you wait until the 1/2 way point of the season & start the points then so everyone is the same
Do you make the 6 teams that have already had the BYE play a catch up game against Athelstone

I've asked the Amatuer League but inserest if anyone has been in this position before :?:

im not sure how they will work it ,but to be fair to everyone results shouldnt stand for anything until the halfway mark.
is funny, athelstone where suppose to be in div 10 but pulled out leaving us with the bye...strange they can come back in now
we now have 11 teams in the 10th div
You are more than welcome to Bring It On.

Athelstone should join in after round 9, for if we play catch up games everyone will stack the teams with A & B graders

Its an interesting situation which i am not really at liberty at this stage to discuss fully however our participation even at the stage is not yet completely final, and hence why nothing has been communicated about what will happen... we don't know ourselves.

We still need to do some number crunching (in terms of players) to see if it can be done... This looks really bad on us but it wasn't exactly planned so to speak (confusion between someone from our club and the league as to what we were asking) and hence we are now scrambling to fix this up.

It's looking reasonably likely that we will go ahead with joining the division at this stage.

Our apologies especially to Ingle Farm who are still unsure if they have a game this weekend. As soon as I know I will call their representative and let them know.

Bit of a discussion down at Limnos with this issue also. Lack of interest by the saasl must be the main cause.

Can't be so difficult to draw up better team friendly fixtures.

i would say tough cookies to entering the league after round one. if you cant get organised be4 the season starts then you should not be inconveniancing all the teams that can be organised by round 1.

Just to update - we have forfeited against Ingle Farm this week but intend to have a team ready for the next game.

To let you know, while our club is not completely at fault, the league jumped the gun and cocked this one up. We were making enquiries, next thing we know we are in the division and given 9 days to fill a team. The forfeit to Ingle Farm is enforced on us due to not having enough registered players

The league have coked this one up completely.

To initiate a new club then accept a bye and award points to a team in the running for premiers is a display of total disrespect for the other clubs in the division.

If there is anyone from the saasl reading this forum you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Perhaps instead of having your heads up your own asses you should see what is really happening to the league and the teams that pull together each week to make the competition a viable entity.

Maybe if you were less concerned with your committee payments and more concerned with the welfare of the league things like this wouldnt happen.

Bluemoon, take your time with the rego's & join in at round 9..June 25th
We'll all love to have a kick against you, just come in at the right time so no one is burdened...

ps : The Amatuer League have not answered my email about this

1 week & counting!

See you when you travel to us in round 13, we'll put the kettle on :P
