are they around the mark? or the jump from div 2 to 1 bigger than expected?
I think we are around the mark for sure, 1st game against Parafield
i felt that we match it with them and if we kept 11 players on the field
against vale we would of beaten them. Only got ourselves to blame
for losing that one.

i'm not talking about football, as you weren't either.

what club are you from if you're such a prime example of class, as opposed to being feral.

Inter 2-1 USC Lion

Very good game unforunately we were on the losing side again. It is pleasing to know we are around the mark. Still to get three first team players back, we will definately be more than competitive this year.

The game was fairly even untill Inter scored a real good goal in a half which was back and forward. Then basically with the last kick of the half Inter went two up. In the second half it was fair to say that we bossed most of the play and got the goal we deserved. From there we had several clear cut chances to get the equaliser, but some poor finishing and good defence from Inter saw us walk away with nothing. A point would of been more than a fair result, but in football you have to take your chances and we didnt. Fair play to Inter who scored a fantastic goal and finished well. We have Royal Park next week our local derby (in terms of location) and with both sides looking for a win it should be a good game.

I was at this game, good fight by the Royal Park boys definately deserved there draw. The referee was so bad both teams were completely consfused at most of his decisions.

How funny was it at the end when the NAB player kicks the ball from half way, the ref blows for FULL TIME and the ball clears the keeper and goes in. NAB didnt deserve the win, a draw was a fair result. Some great reflex saves by the Royal Park keeper who looked liked he lacked some confidence in the first half, but some of his saves in the second were top class.

Look forward to playing you guys next week, after todays game you guys should have alot of confidence. We'll be hungry to find our first points for the season, makes for an interesting match.

you can draw conclusions that they will be the highest scorers. Doesnt mean the highest scorer comes from that team. Parafield wernt the highest scorers in the league last season. Yet, Ross Taylor won the top goalscorer for the league.

Somethimes teams with two or three good goalscorers can cancel themselves out. Compared to an average scoring team with one prolific striker. Look at Div 2 Sat White top scorer in this years book :D, now look at how many goals that team scored.

I thought you were marooned haha. Anyhow you see what I mean though, you guys could cancel each other out. While another player could score more in a team that scores less goals.

a's USC Lion (we missed a penalty) 5-0 Royal Park

b's USC Lion 2-0 Royal Park

Good win for the lads who got slightly complacent in the 2nd half. Our goalkeeper never really made a save, there keeper in the first half stopped some great shots to keep it at 4-0. 2nd half we got lazy, but they didnt really have a clear cut chance. We had 5 different goalscorers in a great team effort and looking forward to the challenge next week.

Any other Sunday results?

That is a massive win for the Downs. Villa are the only team who can stop them winning Div 1 in my opinion, so to beat them and pull 8 points clear of them at this early stage may be telling.

was a good win for the downs boys today, fought hard and showed they coud grind out a result, villa may of had a little more of the play, unlucky not to score in the first half from a corner they hit the post, in the second half villa started well and hit the woodwork again but failed to create any real opportunities, ross taylor was put the through buy a superb ball over the villa defence only to mishit his shot, downs then scored through tom radford after a delightful ball from tony reeves. wasn't the best of games from either side but puts downs in a commanding position now with a big game against westies next week.
mottsy must be happy with how they are travelling down at argana park

results are correct. av will struggle to catch downs from here. even with the season being early.

I agree. PHW could be a threat based on early results and last season's performance however 5 (I think) of their first team regulars are going to the world cup so i'd expect a mid-season downturn there.
