The Downs v galaxy Federation cup

Post by marooned »

Downs drew Galaxy in the 3rd round fed cup. July 1st. Should be an interesting game. Downs with depth this year with As Bs and Cs all top of their respective ladders. Word out is a couple of new faces will be out training this week.

Hey Marooned, Is that at home or away for the Downs? Will be a tough game either way.

yes a tuff game for us, but it had to come sooner or later.

maybe we can do an arsenal on them and get a chef do dish them up some dodgy vindaloo the night before at their team meeting.

haha West Ham would of won anyway and I think if the Downs are top of their game they can win too.

Lets see if you can keep it under 7-0. Thats what Campbelltown (Current Super League Leaders) beat Parafield

We'll give 110% against Galaxy & don't forget that the Downs have nothing lose to everything to gain....

Dont forget your playing a Super League side who train 3 times a week. :)

If you were playing anyone but Galaxy id be going for yas, me old man used to play for Birkalla.

what the downs lack in fitness they will make up for in heart. galaxy wont be used to playing an honest hard team. they will be playing against men , not boys. downs will get the upset

should be a good game - dont think it will be a 5 or 6 nil thrashing like some people might think.

I will be there to have a look like most people.

No doubt Downs r stronger this year and when u got Butler on the bench (who was in the top 3 scorers for DIV 1 last year) who cant get a regular run that says a bit.

The Downs are a real team with everyone enjoying the result and pulling together showing great character rather than a team of individuals - they will mount a real challenge against the Galaxy because of that.

if croatia keep the score below 10 i will be very suprised. downs could play their reserve side and still win it easy

Ya just never never know. 3 of the last 4 years we've drawn the top Div 1 side in the cup and been unlucky to go out 1.0 both times...draw must be rigged I reckon!

Top of Div 1 by 5 points already this early v 2nd in Div 3 and you're talking about a false sense of security colon clenser. Why train more than once a week when most don't even show up then?? The truth is we don't need to do a preseason or to train coz we're that good!   onthepissagain, remember that when we put 5 past you on Sunday!

We play best when hammered...we've organised a big night for the FA Cup so we should be at our peak come Sunday arvo...hungover and a belly full of Mothers Day lunch, some vino mixed in with a few energy drinks (ala VB).

Quilly still involved down at Downs these days?
