Re: Cup Round 1

Brilliant discussions about the Cup and how its should happen in the future so that we can try and avoid blowouts and forfeits. You ought to put that forward to the FFSA. On another note, the depth of talent is a issue that needs to be addressed. I get the NTC competition and how its producing top n...

Re: Player movements before June cut off

What factors determine which club a player goes to OR why they leave a club? The demands upon clubs by the top echelon of players will only continue to grow as the NTC players continue to flow through to the WNPL. They are used to the best and will expect the best from a potential club. Why not!!! T...

Re: Player movements before June cut off

I think there are many other variables to consider in whether or not a transfer is approved by the FFSA. One is the Player Points System. Depending on where a club sits in the total point weighting including how many W league players on their roster will determine which club/s are able to take them ...

Round 10

Given the weather and the conditions tonight, I have edited my tips3 Cannot wait until this Friday night's games. Irrespective of where the teams are on the ladder, an upset is always on the cards. For mine, the Shores will be the place to go with so much on the line for the city v west AND the metr...

Re: Round 8

Hi Coyote. Sorry for the delayed reply. Genius one day and feather duster the next. I suppose the City Cumby result did not pan out the way I had expected and was based on my observations of Cumby in past matches. Given their strong defensive mindset and game plan and the way they stifle the opposit...

Re: Player movements before June cut off

Not heard this Armadillo. (good name btw). Well westies have lost Ladas to Uni. Not sure who else may be looking for an opportunity. Yes they and Metro recruited in the off season and brought in some top end talent and some that are looking for another chance with another club. They have all been fi...

Re: Round 9

The WNPL is in great shape. Really impressed with all the teams even Fulham. NTC have impressed me with their skill and tenacity. Saw them a few times and its clear that there are time when some players run out of gas midway through the game and that is to be expected. Strength and conditioning come...

Re: Round 8

Yes I'm prone to big statement however, you have used the league ladder and last week's results (which I predicted a Cumby win) in response to my preview of the City Cumby game. The league ladder is a good indicator of performance however, I look at what I see on the pitch and whilst their game can ...

Re: Round 8

Hi Junior – Probably indicative of where I see Cumby at. Their endeavour has been excellent all year AND play a very dower game where all players get behind the ball and the counter attack. All they need is a good forward and in my opinion they’d get many more wins. City is not a challenge for them ...

Re: Round 8

Here are my tips

West Adelaide 1 NTC 3
Salisbury 3 Fulham 2
Adelaide Uni 2 Metro 5
City 1 Cumby 2

All the best to all the teams. This years' comp is really even and teams 1-7 are in the running for a top four finish.

Re: WNPL Round 2

Care to revisit your comments below post round 2? Uni have shown to be consistent and building nicely. I still consider them to be a well drilled and competitive side. Good preview of round 2 however, Uni to draw against NTC? Don't think so. Uni's loss was in no way indicative of their abilities. Ra...

Re: WNPL Round 4

Correct with the NTC. They also have another catch up game too. Hopefully it doesn't drag on because the results from those games may impact on ladder position for Salisbury. Not so much for Fulham Liking the Uni team and how they are evolving without their Chilean star player. Hopefully the new coa...

Re: Cup Round 1

Is some suspecting that something is wrong in the way the draw is conducted and the probabilities of no WNPL Clubs playing each other? Perish the thought!

See City and Westies have done very well in the draw.

Re: WNPL Round 2

Bloomin hell. Might need to revisit my assessment of Uni. One game wonders or a blip on the radar? They looked positively out of sorts compared to what I saw the week before. Not the best display of skill and ability expected at this level. Magic 1 Me 0. NTC looked better than the week before and we...

Re: WNPL Round 2

No issue with Hellas and I’ve always been anti the movement 10 or so years ago to de-ethnicise the A League. Open discrimination. Given what the football community is about I found it interesting that Hellas is back in vogue. Hopefully Adelaide City, White City, Croydon and Riders can also incorpora...

Re: WNPL Round 2

Good preview of round 2 however, Uni to draw against NTC? Don't think so. Uni's loss was in no way indicative of their abilities. Rather it says Metro capitalised on opportunity. Uni are a really well drilled and skilful team that is exceptionally coached. NTC was dwarfed by Westies (Not Hellas plea...

Then any investment by those other than the AFL centric heads at AUFC will be beneficial. Enough said.

Hand over the cheque and move over Griffo and co.

Well done Matildas. So proud of our national football team. And a successful one at that.

Yet all we get is AFL-W (awful) as the supposed pinnacle of elite women's sport in Australia rammed down our throats as a great competition. Shame Shame Shame. The Matildas deserve more.

SAle of AUFC and the W-LEague Team

What does the sale of AUFC mean to the AUFC-W? What does the sale of AUFC mean to the AUFC-W? For one, I hope it brings: 1) better investment into facilities to the players and coaches, etc. 2) genuine commitment to the players and coaches 3) respect for the W-League competition 4) a drive for succe...

Big Questions for WNPL Season 2018

1) Will season 2018 deliver another exceptional year from those teams in the WNPL? 2) Will the losses borne by Adelaide University and Fulham especially dent their top 4 aspirations 3) Will City continue on its way and cement top spot, never to be challenged? 4) Will Westies and Metro keep City on t...

Re: Lady Reds in Dissaray

Not sure that's the answer when you're dealing with a sport that's straddling part time when you'd say it needs a full time commitment. How do you mange something in that context AND for which is only for a 13 week season. AUFC senior men and youth are easy to deal with AUFC have exclusivity whilst ...

Bring on 2018 WNPL I say. All positives. City Metro Westies Salisbury Uni...All positive stories. Clearly Metro have assembled a quality side to begin the season. My point was simply that sometimes a team that looks great on paper fails to fulfill its potential (think Melbourne City in the W-League ...

Re: 2018 Women's State League Structure

Rascal21 It is my opinion. Agree or not, that's how I see it. However, you have a lot to offer in the argument and I can see why you believe that the SL should be rationed for the best (as the lead in to the WNPL). I agree however, sometimes you need to set the bar high and give the lesser teams a c...

Excellent move and one that will give rise to a proper relegation and promotion structure. The State League isn't an inferior league. The teams in there will do well. Yes it may well be Comets top an Croydon bottom. The Comets are slowly building a solid women's team structure and by mere misfortune...

SURPRISED? Not I. Pay rise spelt the end of the AUFC-W Team. Enjoy the remainder of the season girls; one of two things will occur. If they (AUFC) relinquish the licence then the FFSA will step in and take over however, I suspect the a large % of the FFSA Board of genii will oppose the move. Unlike ...

Lets hope so.

Sad to say that the USA girls are leading the charge this year. Sophia Huerta is a HUGE omission from this years' squad as is Monica. One because of National duties and the other because of money.

Hope for a BIG WIN TEAM.
