There's a reason why there aren't League matches on the Long weekend. Because the SAASL know that players will go away. So they minimize the games to be played. Surely, starting the League one week earlier would solve this issue. And if clubs find themselves with an excess of players around wanting...

I'd say they should, as suggested, have to pay the expenses for the refs involved, on top of that fine at the very least.bloodypassit wrote:My understanding is that a forfeit in the cup is a $300 fine
If their reserves were still in the cup, they should be given the boot as well.

I believe Western Strikers should be fined by the Amateur League for Sunday forfeiting against Inters A's only a few hours b4 the game. There is nothing worse as a player turning up pumped looking forward to a game & this happens! Surely they knew they wouldn't be fielding a team b4 then? Agree...
