Re: Lady Reds Coach To Quit
Ive heard "rumours" that next year they will have an 8 team NWPL comp that will be played on a Friday night at West Lakes and The Parks.... And that anyone going to watch has to pay to get in.... This will take out the problems of fencing and will bring in more revenue for FFSA. Yes, alot...

Re: Lady Reds appoint Jamie Harnwell as head coach
Otto, it is a very good appointment at face value, but Jamie arrives one month before the season starts on secondment from the WA Football Federation, only to return 3 months later leaving us back at square 1 AGAIN. Hopefully, his impact will be more longer lasting, by coming in with fresh eyes and ...

Re: Cup Semi Finals
does anyone know why the u17 semifinal result was reversed comets v adel uni? went from adel uni 7-0 to comets 3-0 usually to have the game result reversed and awarded to the losing team would mean an irregularity like fielding an ineligible player or another broken rule, but my bet would be on the...

Re: What Now for the Lady Reds ?
As stakeholders, supporters, players, officials and coaches, are we partially to blame ? Do we expect too much from a sport where we are not the #1 female sport ( 100,000 v Netballs conservative 350,000 ) and although ranked highly on a world scale, cant be considered #1 like the Diamonds. For many...

Re: What Now for the Lady Reds ?
You need a A license for starters. Given history, I doubt FFSA will look at any of the local Women's Premier League coaches, so the replacement will either come from the local men's or outside of SA. The clock is already ticking. It's august and the team needs to be totally rebuilt from last year an...

Re: Women's Premier Cup - Round 1
All the reserve teames pressed all the prem teams, there could've been an upset at any park so 9 - 0 shows a prems team being pressed? 7 -2 shows a prems team being pressed? It now seems a little pointless having had the reserves teams in the same cup. The best cup was when they had it grouped in p...

Re: FFSA
Agree JS, that it isn't wise to criticise the FFSA, especially when one has a vested interest in championing its current course and management.
Out of curiosity, have your 'observations' included actually watching any of the three FFSA Premier League games thus far this season???

Re: FFSA
We had a head to head rule in place a few years back, but FFSA in all their wisdom, decided to return to a goal difference system. End result the top clubs have no choice but to be merciless in pursuit of goals. It would not surprise me if FFSA is now contemplating (mid-season), a rule change or pla...

Re: Para Hill Knights seeks a Premier league Goal Keeper
The advert specifically calls for a Premier League goal keeper, so its not beyond the realms of possibility that either the keeper in question had left or was not being considered for the prem role, otherwise why advertise for it specifically? Appreciate the club needs two keepers for prem and reser...

Re: Para Hill Knights seeks a Premier league Goal Keeper
What happened to Mathilda? Has she left as well?
I would have thought she qualified as a 'talented Goal Keeper' to be developed in the Prems.

Re: UNDISCLOSED RE-STRUCTURE OF WOMEN'S FOOTBALL IN SA
It appears there is a secret proposal being drafted linking to a re-structure of Women's Football in SA. The so called proposal has been bandied around and seems to be taking some momentum. It sounds like a great step forward for women's football. What I can gather is the proposed re-structure to b...

Re: New PowerHouse Team To Dominate Women's Football in 2015
Individual development cannot be to the detriment of the grassroots of the game and the true stakeholders of the game, the clubs (those that are left). But like all things, there is a medium and balance that suits both. We should have a strategy and structure in place that allows the grassroots and ...

Re: New PowerHouse Team To Dominate Women's Football in 2015
The way I read, I think you'll find Sportsbird having a (legitimate) dig at the fastest growing 'club' within the FFSA which isn't actually a 'club'.
At this rate, in a couple of years, FFSA will be playing FFSA in every round of the women's comp ;)

Why should he? There was no reason why the referee couldn't have just got on with the game. Why should he? Because the referee insisted for whatever reason. Surely it wasn't that hard just to walk away?? So from now on, whenever someone feels a ref has erred in judgement, they should just hold thei...

Just think wouldn't have been an issue I'd the idiot from your club had just moved. He was away from the pitch not doing any harm. The referee made a big deal out of nothing. Over zealous referee common sense prevailed, full game replayed Why would Uni lose their 1 goal lead (I stand to be corrected if they were not winning 1 nil at the time) for an incident that had nothing to do with them??? Please note the SAASL have confirmed the round 5 first team game BOSA vs Adelaide Uni will be replayed. Therefore the 1-0 win to Uni needs to be corrected. If true wow! Aloisi appointed Head of Women's Football
I welcome the appointment of Ross as head of women's football after leading the lady reds to their best ever season, after 5 years of dismal failure. This is the continuity we need from a high level, successful coach.
But with Ross's appointment as head of NTC as well, where does that leave GH????
