Re: WNPL Play Off result
Gee "Worthless Gobemouche". Could you make it any more obvious that you used to be involved with Cumberland, most likely as a coach? I love reading this forum as all contributors obviously are interested in the women's game in this state. I am not keen though on all the negative comments ...

Re: Adelaide United WFC Coaches
Whether PP or KM get appointed (either way not fussed), then the successful appointee must quit as a WNPL coach at the end of the current season. It would be a totally unfair competitive advantage in terms of player recruitment if one was to coach a WNPL at the same time. All the best talent aspiri...

Re: Adelaide United WFC Coaches
I've got no idea if this rumour is true or not, but I know one thing for sure, if true, both should resign at end of season as WNPL coaches. You can't have WNPL coaches doing both gigs. Its a massive conflict of interest and a major competitive advantage when a coach can tell a player, come play for...

I Scalzi not listed either. Must still be injured from W League.juniorsupporter wrote:If anything it looks stronger to me- and the core of that side has been together for a long time- that kind of continuity helps.

Re: Adelaide City will not meet the Criteria in 2017
City are too big to fold. Those who run the very successful men side of the club won't allow it to happen. Even if they don't meet the criteria, the precedent has been set. A paltry 3 point penalty which like sturt Marion, is a mere slap on the wrist. City are here to stay but hopefully they underst...

Whilst the loss of Jones weeks out before the season started could not be helped, the fact that he had not picked the majority of his squad way before and had them training in earnest, is incompetence from a professional club. Re: Sturt Marion to close up shop
Legally you are correct. In pragmatic terms you are incorrect. Next season the same junior girls will be playing at the same venue with the same coaches and the key difference is they will be called Cove instead of Sturt Marion. Takeover, merger, adoption, absorption, subsumed, transition, call it ...

Re: Sturt Marion to close up shop
We can debate the semantics. Cove have taken over. The chairman of Cove has emailed all the parents and players of Sturt Marion this morning. Junior teams will continue on under Cove and will train and play at the same Sturt Marion facility. There are no semantics, just facts. If ffsa had recognize...

Re: Sturt Marion to close up shop
Brewie, Sturt NO LONGER EXIST. They have folded. Sure some players have moved to the Cove, but the Cove are a totally different club who would need to apply for admission in the WNPL or State League on their own merits.Brewie wrote:They have not folded. They have been taken over by Cove.

Re: Sturt Marion to close up shop
Sturt Marion were never in dire straights. They just have no one who is willing to do any work to keep the club running. The music has stopped and the chairs are vacant. The few that were left have bolted for the exit door. They are probably thinking it is a lot easier to take their daughter to ano...

Re: Sturt Marion to close up shop
Sturt officially gone.
Makes an even bigger mockery of last summer's WNPL criteria fiasco. Everyone knew that Sturt was in dire straits except the very people who should have known.
Anyway, who comes up now to replace Sturt and what happens to the State League?

Re: Sturt Marion to close up shop
Whilst I have no doubt the club faces serious issues, we've been told of sturts imminent demise before, not for it to eventuate. Irrespective of what happens, FFSA TAKE NOTE. Do not let a repeat of last season's debacle of knowingly admitting clubs who didn't meet the WNPL criteria to enter the leag...

Apparently, a last minute trial has been set up this week for local players. I get the impression this only happened given the...

I think I was right. 3-0 was flattering. 4-0 was a trouncing Great comments and from where I sit/stand, city have played their final against Fulham and were lucky to have won. The metro coach walked by and had a wry smile because she knew that whichever team they played they would have the upper ha...

Cheers Scipio. Hence why edited my Reponses. I elected to be humble and just revisit my predictions. I have been around for a long time and seen many clubs up close and personal. Seen the old National League teams, state, etc. and I believe I speak from a position of knowledge (albeit probably a ta...

3-1 to Metro BTK, for what is worth, you have been around on the forum since 2002 and never came across as a Metro supporter. Not that I have any issue with that, but ironic you being attacked for expressing an opinion from someone who proclaims to be a 'neutral supporter' but only ever talks about...

Re: 4 WNPL Teams Failed To Meet The Criteria
So both Comets & South fulfilled the criteria. So should they both be in? I think not. As it stands, neither of those mentioned clubs are required to meet the WNPL criteria as they are not in it. When they submitted their application they would have indicated a commitment to meet the criteria. ...

I've been calling this for months for what it is. A CIRCUS :clown: :clown: :clown: South, Comets and the other State League clubs, you have been played for mugs. End of the season, if promotion/relegation is removed (would not surprise me), just lie as much as you can and get in, and then cop the 3 ...

Re: 4 WNPL Teams Failed To Meet The Criteria
Seems like Comets believe it was their right to be included in WNPL just because they meet the criteria. Given sturt clearly don't meet the criteria and in reality never did, I think comets grievances are valid. Now whether it was comets, south or another state league club who was promoted instead,...

Re: 4 WNPL Teams Failed To Meet The Criteria
So why were Sturt Marion "politely asked!!!!!" to play in the WNPL and not South Adelaide or Comets ? About time FFSA started providing some transparency into these baffling decisions and stopped hiding behind closed doors. All they are doing at the moment is turning people against Sturt ...

Re: 4 WNPL Teams Failed To Meet The Criteria
Sturt have always flouted the rules (sanctioned by FFSA). Catch up games are commonplace and the rule to play them within the prescribed time rarely (if ever) applies to them. At the season's end we've seen many times where catch up games still need to be played and where ladder placing's have been...

Re: 4 WNPL Teams Failed To Meet The Criteria
Not that i'm advocating this, but as there appears to be such resentment to the apparent favoritism given towards Sturt Marion ( and maybe one or two other clubs ) perhaps the Club Presidents ( WNPL Clubs and any other aggrieved parties ) should get together and approach the FFSA for clarification....

Re: One Week to Go
I was told by two spectators to the game that Fulham keeper was best player for Fulham with a number of great saves. Given the scoreline finished an emphatic 5-0, the end result could have been considerably worse. Season is very long however, and the way all teams are playing now will be very differ...
