Re: Rumbles in AUWFC Camp

Junior supporter,
Thanks for keeping my memory alive.
I must have left a good impression on you.
Unfortunately or fortunately, I am trying to keep out of commenting on this forum. Just reading.
Looks like nothing has changed however.
Great to see someone else take over.

Re: Cup Round 1

What a dissappointing cup round.
The FFSA needs to act on those clubs that forfeited and fine them accordingly and ban them for next years cup round.
It shows disrespect to the womens cup competition.

Re: Adelaide United Players on the move

I also heard on the grapevine that Racheal Quigley will be heading to Melbourne with her partner next season after playing for Adelaide United WFC. Apparently has been offered a contract for one season. This season will be Racheal last season in the SA WNPL before heading to victoria. Unsure which V...

Re: Big Questions for WNPL Season 2018

Unfortunately the season will be between adelaide city, west adelaide and Metro.
The remaining teams will be below par and only two teams will fight for 4th spot. Adel Uni and salis inter.
The remainder will fight for survival not to be relegated.

Re: Lady Reds in Dissaray

Thanks for responding Sportsbird. I suppose then if Ivan is not going to coach next season all that your “reliable source” told you is irrelevant. Coyote Ivan has a two year contract. Thats a fact. I believe from the talk around the AUWFC circles is that Ivan has been offered another gig and he may...

Re: Lady Reds in Dissaray

Hi Sportsbird With your information yesterday from your “reliable source” it seems to me Ivan has been or will be “locked in” as coach for 2018/2019 season. Is that your understanding? I am looking forward to the start of next season to see just how accurate your “reliable source” is. My understand...

Re: Lady Reds in Dissaray

I have received information from a reliable source that following the post season review, Ivan will only be offering contracts to the following SA players in 2018/2019 season. McCormack (has a two year contract) Chidiak Condon Checker (has a two year contract) The remianing players will be cut and b...

An interesting article that has come out this morning on AFLW. This issue was previously brought up in a separate topic, but thought it deserved its own thread. https://www.sen.com.au/news/2018/02/06/burkeys-guide-on-how-to-coach-girls/ Well done Rap300 for locating that article. it was exactly wha...

Re: Adelaide Comets - Team most likely

Adelaide Comets I hear were unlucky not to be the in the WNPL in 2018 if it were not for ther NTC. What I have heard around that the Comets sector is that they have prepared a five year plan for the women's competition 2 years ago and it looks like heading into fruition. I have been told by a long t...

Paul, your telling me that a coach out of frustration can tell a female player straight to their face that your fat, your f???in useless, you wont be here next year if I'm still coach, you only worry about your looks, if you cant match it with the men you wont be in my team, how the hell did you get...

Another topic to criticise Ivan from sportsbird. I do wonder if there is an agenda here. Nathanburns15, Im not sure what your trying to suggest but I will refer back to my comments in July 2017, As you can see from my comment below, I was excited that Ivan was appointed as head coach of the lady re...

Lady Reds - Wooden Spooners

Never did I think we would be bottom of the ladder this season. Definately something wrong. The issue are simple. 1. AUWFC board should be held accountable for the poor season and the appointment of Ivan as Head Coach. 2. Ivan should be also held accountable for poor player selection and poor coachi...

What a disappointing effort from the players. There are major issues within the camp and needs to be addressed. Players are not playing for the coach and it shows. Enough is enough. Ivan you need to stand up and drop players who have not performed and give other players the opportunity. Again the mi...

I think to discount the game as a success based on missed opportunities and “lost” chances that went begging would paper over what has been a very poor year. Friday night’s game was one that lacked urgency, cohesion and unity. Signs that all is not well in the camp. Fatiguing players that have roll...

Re: AUFC to hand back the Womens Licence to the FFSA in 2018

The approx. cost of running the lady reds is as follows; 2016-2017 season, approx $300,000 2017-2018 season, approx $450,000 with the introduction of payment to players The gate takings this season have not really improved from last season, therefore has minimal impact on the team expenses. AUFC to hand back the Womens Licence to the FFSA in 2018

Rumour has it that the board of the AUWFC have had preliminary discussions in relation to handing back the licence to the FFSA. This has come about the extra costs of running the women's team and with the additional player payments. Further discussions will take place after the W League has complete...

A certain R Quigley would not go astray now. Rachel made a big difference last season when she overcame an early injury and once started playing, the lady reds looked a very different team. Signing injured players for such a short season is fraught with danger and one that I would not recommend. Al...

Given the very little that the girls get paid I dont think you can ask them to choose between two pay days if the clubs are happy. Sorry Lepp, I agree with Brenton T. Lepp, the code hopping is not good for the clubs and the players. For example, Lepp plays for Norwood FC and cannot play for Adelaid...

What I did hear today, that certain players were given contracts knowingly they were ...
