Dida Agent , Blasts "Non-Existent" Milan Defence

Following the heavy criticisms received by media, Dida’s agent Oscar Damiani has leapt to his client’s defense.

The agent of under-fire Milan goalkeeper Dida has stood up for his client by blaming the Rossoneri defense. “It’s their fault, not his,â€￾ Oscar Damiani said.

The Brazilian was criticised heavily in Italian media as they blamed him for both goals Milan conceded in the 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday

Those mistakes, along with a few more unconvincing performances this season, have raised question marks over the club’s decision to offer him a new £2.8m a season deal until 2010

However, Damiani has agreed with Silvio Berlusconi in backing the South American goalkeeper.

"The truth is that the Milan defence is non-existent and everyone is simply shifting the blame on to the goalkeeper,â€￾ the agent claimed. “The errors at the back against Bayern, specifically by [Massimo] Oddo and [Alessandro] Nesta, were significant and my client can’t pay the penalty for those.

"Journalists need to take into account this aspect. Milan won’t get anywhere if they don’t put their defence right, no matter what Dida does."

The Brazilian international, born in 1973, has been Milan’s first choice goalkeeper since the 2002-03 campaign.
